Has anyone tried this yet? I have Sprint and they use a program called TeleNav. Im going to be getting it in January when I am in Virginia, and Im curious how accurate, and how easy this is to use.
I have had it here in the NYC area for two years... WORKS GREAT! I just bought a new SUV and purposely left out the navi on it and saved myself 5k. The phone I have has a nice big screen and works absolutely fantastic. The one drawback is that I can't plug the phone in and charge it without killing the satellite signal for the Navi. Other than that, its a beautiful thing!
Is youre voice responsive? Like does the phone vocally TELL you where to turn? Thats so cool. I was in VA a few months ago and it took me 3 hrs to find my way out of Chesapeake, VA. I bought 2 big detailed maps as well. So this next time, Im having a GPS handy!
I have it on my Blackberry and have been using it for about 6 months, as I travel quite frequently. I have used other GPS navigation systems and TelNav is great, as it has a lot of great features, from voice street names to gas prices of nearby stations, and traffic optimization to unlimited businesses/places to go. I would strongly recommend it.
I have it on my phone and love it. It's very useful if you are traveling or looking for a nearby store or restaurant. And mine does have voice directions.
Telenav doesn't use satellites. The cell phone towers triangulate your signal, so you might be in trouble if you're out of signal. I'm iffy on getting a GPS for my phone. I'd either have to use Telenav or buy a $50+ GPS bluetooth receiver. I think a 2.8" screen is too small to use while driving around lost. But it'd make using Google maps kick ass.
