[Gossip] T-Mac in trade talks; Involves Kevin Martin and Nocioni

    Here's the deal...

    My district manager who I talk with pretty often told me last season that he goes to the same church as a Rockets "employee". He told me that he chats him up every now and then and they talk Rockets. My manager told me that he always tries to get the "employee" to give up the inside scoop on trade talks and such, although I'm not sure why as I don't think the "employee" would know too much considering he's not Morey. My manager called me tonight after his evening church service with a bombshell (if true).

    Okay, I hesitated to even post this, but I can't think of any reason why my manager would lie to me. I just figured I'd pass it along and the worst that could happen is that it turns out not to be true and I get flamed a little. ;)

    Anyway, here it goes:

    Not exactly sure how this would go down but the players in the talks include McGrady and Jermaine Taylor on the Rockets side. The players on the Kings side are Kevin Martin, Andres Nocioni, and Shareef Abdur-Rahim. Since Shareef is retired from the NBA, I'm guessing his contract is included to make the deal work since McGrady makes so much money.

    I'll let you guys speculate as to why it does or does not make sense for us or what reason the Kings have to make such a trade.

    NO! don't do this, kmart is just as injury prone and a defensive liability, he'd be a GREAT 2 if yao was healthy, but yao isn't so there.

    Nocioni's a scrub. We can do better, let' mac boy's contract expire sign someone else

    No way, we certainly have to be giving some more assets. Wouldn't make sense for the kings otherwise.

    This actually sounds plausible, if they believe Evans is their future SG and they're desperate to cut salary. I don't think Evans makes sense long term as a PG.

    If we were to deal with the Kings, I would hope that either Thompson or Hawes be sent with Martin to get another big man instead of another shooting wing like Nocioni. I don't see why the Kings would want Tmac and I don't know how much the cap relief would benefit them considering they aren't necessarily that attractive to big time free agents. Also, Martin is a great player but health might also be an issue with him.

    I know Martin is starting to look injury-prone but I'm a fan of his game and think he would fit seamlessly in an Adelman offense.

    Whether or not this rumor is legit, I would be happy to see Martin in a Rockets uniform at some point.

    Would be sick.

    Assuming Yao will be healthy, he will continue to be our franchise player/cash cow. I know most people wouldn't be happy with this but probably trade Battier packaged with Nocioni to trade for a decent back up big and make cap space to resign other players. I like Battier but Ariza and Budinger both seem very promising and we have more important needs to attend to.

    Martin/??
    Ariza/Budinger
    Scola/Landry
    Yao/(Insert back up BIG)/Hayes

    rotate ariza to sg so we can get in some playing time for hayes. ideally, this is what i would like to see happen.
