Wow, I can't believe nobody has talked about this yet. I'm pretty sure nobody has, but I can't confirm with the search option being restricted. Ok, for starters, before anybody mentions it, No. Gore didn't do this to gain publicity for a 2004 election. Tonight, Gore is expected to announce that he won't run in 2004. Anyways, he did a good job of making fun of himself with the long ass kiss he and tipper shared during the opening. He did a parody of the bacheloer to show how he chose Liebermen as his running mate. There was a video of him visiting the set of the West Wing where he started pertending to be president. The best part of that sketch was when he set up a scene with John Spencer. Gore stood at the window, starring outside with his hands crossed behind his back and Spencer came and said, "Mr. President, the Joint Chiefs need an answer." Gore turned around slowly and said "tell them. . . we're going in." My favorite sketch was Hardball, where Gore played Trent Lott. "I meant no disrespect to any white people. As long as I am in office, we will leave no white person behind."
I laughed my ass off the entire show...I don't normally watch SNL anymore since the days of Adam Sandler and Dana Carvey; but this one cracked me up more than any other one I've seen. There was one point when we were sitting around watching it that somebody said "Wow, Gore's actually a good actor." I responded, "He's a politician, that's his job." But if he does end up running, his image of a lifeless, not-fun dude won't be an issue again.
