GOP Governor can avoid impeachment thru Session replacement

Interesting story... republican Governor of Alabama had the opportunity to name Session's replacement. He chose the current state Attorney General. Which wouldn't be newsworthy, except that the Governor is currently under an impeachment investigation by the State Attorney's office for an affair the Governor had with a former aide. And.. the Governor can name the replacement for the Attorney General, opening up the possibility he can choose someone sympathetic or loyal and avoid prosecution.
