The Trends thread got me to thinking that Google has come up with a lot of different tools, sites, etc. that have become very useful and are simply great. What Google tool do you like the most? Which do you use the most? For me, I say I use and like GMail the most. I like it better than any other email server out there right now and any other one that I have been with before. There are so many, what is your favorite?
google maps w/ the hybrid function.... i also like seeing satellite images from across the world. you can actually see the eiffel tower, and the vatican if you want to.
some aspects of Google Finance are pretty good. Still needs work though, thus its still in Beta phase.
It's odd but I use gmail for my main account. I have other accounts but it's mostly because I have a name I wanted. Because of that though, I've become their tool for advertisements and data mining...
Me too but I literally could not give a damn. Mine me baby. I still (knock on wood) have not clicked a side ad in g-mail. I use: G Mail (extensively) G Calendar (extensively) G Earth G Maps G Desktop (Extensively) G Talk (Through Gmail Extensively) And next week G Notebook is coming out and if the past is any indication of the future I will be transferring all of my del.icio.us there. I simply love the interface that Google comes up with on everything they do. Everything. Think about G Mail...I can't stand having to use Outlook at work because the threaded, searchable, chat-integrated g Mail is superior.
I like google stuff but I've found google desktop to be kind of disappointing and cumbersome, and most of all not very useful, anybody agree?
mail (best i've had by far. the search function and the thread-stacking rule!) maps (hybrid) earth (sick)
How does one get to use GMail? It looks like it has limited members and you must be invited. I'd like to check it out.
I agree. I downloaded it and tried it (still have it on my desktop) but I was disappointed with what I saw.
I downloaded it last night, installed it and then uninstalled it 5 minutes later. Reminded me a lot of the Konfabulator, which after you got over the "hey that's kind of cool" factor, was also pretty worthless.
