Anyone else have this kind of problem with Google Places before? The information displayed on the Google frontpage is not the same as the one in the actual Google Place page. I have a verified listing for my restaurant, and have corrected all the information in the Google Place page itself, however the frontpage listing (which links to the Google Place page directly) still displays an outdated phone number. Odd thing is it used to have the correct one, but over a week ago, it suddenly switched to the old one.
I've tried to contact Google, but they have no protocol for this via their automatic submission forms. The only thing I think I can do is to call them but they're not open so I'm sitting on my thumbs till Monday.
Google isn't very good at fixing this stuff. I remember there was an article about an issue regarding a wrong phone number. EDIT: here it is. http://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/...uple-is-fed-up-with-wrong-number-phone-calls/
If you make any corrects to google places, then it will take maybe 3 weeks for the changes to take place. Lesson: don't ever touch google places once you have the information corrected. Don't make ANY changes.
Somewhere on the internet exists your old phone number and Google's web crawlers are finding it and switching your number to the old number. That's my guess. Solution: Destroy the Internet.
I currently manage over 20 Google Places listings across the US for a brand. Man have I been through some trials and tribulations with Google Places. Sheesh. What you see in your managed listing account doesn't always reflect on the actual listing. Yes, sometimes it can take 2-3 weeks to process changes but usually it's been 3-5 days for me lately. When you make certain changes you want to view the Google Plus page and click "edit details" - make changes from there. The only way you can get in touch with Google for Places support is by using the productforums.google site. Moderators will give you a hand but they're dicks.
