Nothing beats Americas and Marks. My two favorite restaurants in Houston. Fogo, Brenners and Perrys are awesome. I loved Red Square and Prime when I went to Vegas.
I went to a place called Noe, inside Omni Hotel tonight, and the food was amazing. Great ambience, excellent food. Don't expect to get full, but be prepared for a flavor explosion. I agree with Marks and Americas. I will also add Perry's Grill (pork chops).

speaking of Thai, anyone ever go to Kanomwan on Telephone Rd by Austin High School. the restaurant is so out of place, but it gets rave reviews, and it's packed during lunch hours.
Yes, that place kicks so much arse it's not even funny. The tom kha gai is like a bowl chock full o' crack. And it's byob. Shout out for Mexico's Deli on Dairy Ashford: best mexican sammich in Houston.
