Good Places for Youngsters to Vacation this Summer

    I thought the board could help me out here. A couple of friends and I want to take a break from our life and live it up for a week or so.

    Some things we want to do:
    sight-see
    party
    chill
    relax on a beach

    Are there any "must-see" places we should look out for? NYC, Boston, Cali are out of the question since we've been there many times. I've heard good things about Vancouver. Any other places? Beaches? Anywhere in the South?

    Vancouver is awesome. You can go to the beach and skiing on the same day. Very outdoorsy city and a good nightlife scene (although no where near as good as Montreal). The exchange rate for the Canadian dollar is also really good nowadays as compared to this time last year.

    Speaking of...you might want to check out Montreal's Jazz festival..I think it's in July..supposed to be awesome.

    Seconded. TONS to do: great food, sightseeing, nice waterfront, beautiful. Be prepared, though, for some cooler weather.

    If you go to the Pac NW, might as well go to Vancouver. Way better than Seattle, IMO.

    things my friends and I want to do in the summer when we go on vacation:

    party
    chill
    relax on a beach


    a vacation to the caribbean is perfect.. went to St. Croix in '06 and '07 and went to St. Martin in '08.

    I'd say St. Croix is better in that it has a few sightseeing things to do (can get it all done in 1 day by driving around the island). On any of the islands you can check out different beaches on different days.. there's a ferry trip to a nearby, smaller island with good snorkeling and even more pristine waters..

    Our version of partying on these trips is usually on our own. We would hit up the local casino, but it's pretty low key on the islands. Alcohol (esp. some good cruzan rum) is especially cheap out there..
