Any recommendations on where to get brake pads replaced for a 60000 miles Toyota Camry? Is it better to use geniune Toyota parts? The dealer is running promotions like $89 per axle, or $159 including resurface of rotors/drums. Firestone will do it for $79 per axle including resurface. It says 90% they will "discover" something else wrong with your brakes. There will be no warranty if you don't "repair" the problems they found. Or they will charge diagnosis fees if you don't want to do the job there. Sounds a rip-off? Thanks in advance. BTW, I will not do it by myself.
My guess is just go to Midas and get their lifetime replacement service that's usually like $99 per axle or something and be done with it.
Dr, I guess only the pads are lifetime replacement. Does that mean rotors will wear out fast since pads are too good.
Ask for carbon metallic pads when you do it.. If you like clean wheels and a little more bite on your brakes they're worth it and they last longer..
Stay awake from Brake Check on Wilcrest and Briar Forest. That place is run by ex-cons and general low lifes. They once tried to convince me that I would have to pay $25 to take each wheel off. Fortunately I pulled out my piece, and told them **** off.
So worn brake pads are better? New brake pads usually "fit" to old rotors after driving for a while. At least from what I know... someone correct me if I'm wrong.
