No guards can pass the ball to Ming's hand. Australia hits 9 3points. So sometimes Ming had to go out to defend. At the meantiime, the other players didn't go inside to get the rebound.

Because the head coach "simply split the playing time between Yao Ming and Bateer", I think Ming's playing time is around 25 minutes yesterday. But I have to say it's too bad for Ming to get only four chances to shoot at that game. Ming should get 10 chances to shoot easily when he faces to the players like Australian team.

Good to hear. Too bad he didn't get more attempts. Do you happen to know how many rebounds/assists/blocks he had in the game? As always, thanks for the info Windandsea.

We lost this game because Yao can not get the ball and lost too much front rebounds (19 VS 3),So Australia could try many 3points. I think rochet guard will not be frozen like that.

    100% FG? 4-4FG + 1-1FT, 10rebs -not bad.

I think that coach of the Chinese team is a bust.

I heard that Ming has 9 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks in around 25 minutes.

Anyway, it is a bad game for him.

Can't even dominate against Chris Anstey.

This guy is gonna be such a bust. Let the CC board dellusion continue!!

He's not gonna put up those numbers in a Rockets Uni because he won't get the ball as much and he'll be facing guys that will kill him on a nightly basis. Chris Anstey couldn't even make it on the Bulls...

Thanks again W&S for the info. I get the sense after Ming and Bateer there isn't much talent on that team. If I am correct Yao shot around 70% from everywhere. From the field from 3pt range and from the free the line. That's 70 % for the whole series! I get the impression that every shot Yao takes is like a free throw to him. (with the exception of dunks).

I don't know what Yao will score with the Rockets but he definitely won't be double and triple teamed. If they do they will pay. With Mobley, Francis, Rice, Nachbar, Griffin and Mo T all good to great shooters, the opposing team can't afford it. I can see Shaq out on the perimeter trying to guard Ming and Yao passing over him to a slashing francis for an easy layup without Shaq back there.

Coach Jackson calls a time out and says we can't let these guys score it the paint on us like that. Let's put Shaq on Mo T and let Horry guard Ming (no offense Horry I love you man) and ming shoots over him like he's shooting free throws. So now the swing Fox over to help on the ball and Rice and or Nachbar or wide open I mean wide open behind the 3 pt line. Swish nothing but net. Lets hope Rice really got his legs and his shot back.

Its smells like a rotten troll right up above you, Old Man Rock.

    pheeew!

What I really want to know is how does a 7'6 player only get the ball fed to him 4 times(or a little more). As a coach, you got to counter attack double and triple teams with screens, curls, and set plays that allow Ming to still get the ball. But even without that, it shouldnt be thatt hard to lob the ball over the top of a defense to your best high percentage shooter. The coach is more to blame than Ming.

Really does seem like Yao was playing 1 on 5. He's probably fighting double and triple teams that his guards can't even get him the ball. He's forced to guard players all the way out to the 3 point line, but his players can't get the rebounds. And he still ends up with 10 rebounds. I'm thinking it's going to be so much easier for Yao in the NBA where actually has some help.

A report said that Yao Ming passed the ball three times to a guard who was wide open and in very good position. The guy tried three 3points, and hit 0.

BTM= YAO MING hater. Also you need to be accurate with your info! Australia had 3 players on YAO not one and the guards were prevented from getting the ball to him! If you are a Houston Rockets Fan you will know that this situation could not happen with the great talent on the Rocks team.

I'll take 9 points on 4-4 shooting any day over 14 points on 4-16 shooting. If it is true that the Chinese coaching isn't very good, it must mean that Yao thinks for himself and has a good understanding of the game.

I have a buddy that saw the game...he works for Barclay Trust over there and he said that Ming was in deed triple teamed most of the evening and that on defense no one was defending and many times he was trying to guard 2-3 guys....it does take a team effort in B-ball guys...can you imagine double and tripling him in the NBA....I will take a first round pick for that....it won't happen but good for comparisons....

I saw jason williams flounder against wake forest this past year...I think he ended up with 10 points and 5 assists in 30 minutes...doe this mean he is a bust?

He won't get the ball as much? He only put up four shots in this game! How many shot attempts do you think he'll get? 3?

Thank you for the post, W&S.

    <font size=-1>Montgo's wish list:

    4. Fly Windandsea in for Ming's first game!!! still working on it

Do you have how much does it need?

Suppose W&S stays for one week and watchs two games, suppose he/she is in Toronto (we know he/she is not in China. If you haven't figured out, go back to read his/her posts):

    1. round-trip ticket: $500,

    2. two Court-side tickets: $120

    3. Hotel: 150 ^ 6 = $900

    4. Food, drink: $250

    5. A welcome party (by CC.net ?): $300

    The total: $2070.

Has someone establish a 'w&s fund' yet? You can count my $30 for it. Any one else??
