Bad news first ... and it's pretty bad: The NBA no longer will allow "dot coms" to take photos of practice, games, etc. This is not a Rockets policy, but comes from the NBA. We found out when we got there (Jeff and I both brought digital cameras this time in case mine went fishy again) and I wasn't overly thrilled -- but I guess those are the breaks. The good news is the day was seriously awesome. Jeff Balke came in to town (I owe him a huge thanks for driving down) and we watched practice, did a few interviews (asked Mo a few questions) then went back to the hotel with the players for an appointment we had. It was just trippy -- Collier and Bullard (Matt knows Jeff) came over and talked with us in the hotel lobby ... Francis is like sitting in the couch across from us. Players going in and out... wild. Very fun day. I hope to have a write-up on it later tonight ... ... but unfortunately, no pictures ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
But Clutch-- Thankfully, this isn't the .com, this is the .net. Oh well, no pictures. But isn't a picture really just 1,000 words? ------------------ The Serious Police are watching. Follow the rules or be assimilated. Shandon is underrated.
Clutch, Does this mean that you will have to take down the pictures from Media Day, or did the policy begin today? Doesn't matter, though. I loved the pics from Day 1, anyway. ------------------ Nederland 2002 Qualifying Campaign (Damn those penalties!!!) Houston Rockets Space Center- Not just another ClutchCity.NET clone. We're that and more!
Personally, I like your sketch artist's rendering of the basketball action, and I look forward to more stick man action figure shots. ------------------ What a slam dunk!! [This message has been edited by TB3 (edited October 05, 2000).]
Well that sucks , but doesnt matter. Just hearing the reports is good enough. Damn you 2 are lucky. ------------------ "You look a team that's been to the mountaintop like the Houston Rockets, I'm going to put pressure on myself to be the best possible player that I can be. With the pieces they already have in place and myself, we can do some amazing things next season." Maurice Taylor
Oh well, thats the breaks I guess. Looking forward to your interviews and inside info. We'll just have to watch Fox for the visuals. ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
What is the purpose of not allowing people to take pictures?? People have been taking cameras to games to take pics of their favorite players since the freaking game began!! Man, David Stern is a royal sonofabitch!! We really need to start a petition or write that *(&*%$&*!!! ------------------ Too often, we lose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, but it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and pimp-slap the mother****** upside the head!
Man, when you said, "and it's pretty bad," my first thought was, "oh crap, somebody's injured." Lucky me. It made no pictures seem irrelevant. ------------------ stop posting my damn signature
I hope your not be making this up just because Kelvin Cato stepped on the digital camera and you lost the pictures again but on a heavier note , what the heck is NBA.com gonna do? ------------------ This signature space for rent call 555 ...
Same here Pole! Let's stay away from that topic though! I still don't get what the problem is with taking pictures. Hell, if anything it's free advertising for the league! Stern is a shmuck! ------------------ Too often, we lose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, but it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and pimp-slap the mother****** upside the head!
It's not too hard to understand. They do not want any fan sites one-upping the nba.com/whoever sites. You might as well call it the Clutch Rule because everyone knows where all the real fans go. The popularity of this site is so great that it attracts fans from other teams. They would probably prefer us to steal their pictures rather than having our own exclusive shots, which may or may not be better than the ones their hired professionals take. Conspiracy theorists, have at it...... ------------------ RocketFuel is dead!
Clutch, If you wrote to the Rockets and the league office, they might grant you permission to take some photos. If you tell them you are more like a media/fan site then a regular dot com. They might go for it. DaDakota ------------------ All you MO-FO's better stop ripping off my lines !!
Hilarious. ------------------ Remember.... You are not really drunk until you must hold on to the grass to keep from falling off the earth.
Here's some "Official" pics from NBA.com: http://www.nba.com/Wizards/pics_001004.html Now you understand why they don't want Clutch taking pics. Clutch's daughter could take better pics ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
taken from limp bizkit-- "it's just one of those days, when you don't wanna wake up, everything is fu#%ed everybody sucks..." "it's all about the he-said she-said bull$#it!" David Stern, I might "just break your f###ing face tonight!" come and get it. Oh well.. i'll be looking forward for the write-up Elie#17 ------------------ Oh.. so this is how you add a signature huh? coo coo.
BobFinn, that was frickin' hillarious.. nba.com is such a joke. -elie17 ------------------ Oh.. so this is how you add a signature huh? coo coo.
David Stern would trade his mother for a two dollar ho if he thought there was a way for him to make $$$ out of it. ------------------
mmmmmmm.... two dollar hos. ------------------ "Everyone I know has a big but... come on Simone, let's talk about your but."
