I'm looking to get some recommendations on a good multiplayer game for the PS3 that I can play with my wife. Recently she downloaded a couple of the old Spyro games through PSN and that has gotten her in the gaming spirit. I'm looking for something similar that we could play together instead of me just sitting and watching. Any ideas on a fun adventure game that would be good for us to check out? I don't care if its old or new.

LittleBigPlanet is the most obvious one.

Actually I was checking out the link that RocketMania posted and the first game I started to look at was Little Big Planet. I'm gonna go see if I can rent it right now. Looks to be exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks!

Yeah Little Big Planet is your best bet. She'll think the sackboy character is cute.

    Fun and casual game.

    Grand Theft Auto

not exactly multiplayer, but here's a fun way to play it that both of you will enjoy: have a stop watch and take turns playing the game every 1 minute (or any interval you prefer), the objective is to bludgeon/run over the largest number of prostitutes in the specified time interval. If you win, you get the old Ann Hathaway, if she does, she gets to go back to the kitchen and make you a sandwich. So it's essentially a win-win situation for you.

I love the Spyro games. That's what got me hooked on Insomniac Games. Another fun older game is the any of the Sly Cooper series.

I'd echo the bomberman sentiment. There are some fun multi-player versions out there, but I couldn't tell you which is which. They've released so many entries in that series.

I've heard nothing but good things about Little Big Planet, but I just couldn't get into it. My daughter loves is, but my wife and I both didn't care for the demo.

My wife will play racing games on rare occasions, but usually she's down with Wii Sports if she plays at all.

i know you asked about PS3, but...

if you want to truly have fun with your SO, get a wii and play wii sports or the new super mario bros for wii.

both are SO FUN! and ladies do seem to enjoy them...

If she's into trivia, Buzz Quiz World is fun. Plus you can team up and play people online.

    I dont either.

I bought it. Sold it back after about a week.

Although, all the talk has me consistently second guessing my opinion on the game. I just didnt understand the gushing over it.

To me, LBP was a good/great coop platforming game (especially some of the later levels...early ones are pretty simple and easy). Probably not really all that special compared to what else is out there though.

What made LBP stand out for me though was the user tools though. Pretty much an infinite amount of levels to play. Sure, most are (or were) crap, but some are really good. And beyond that, you have levels where users managed to recreate basic tools (e.g., a calculator, which still blows my mind), music, complicated machinery (e.g., mechs, rollercoasters, etc.), and even other popular games (e.g., Tetris). That all brought me a lot of enjoyment from playing the game. And I never even got into trying to make my own levels, which I wanted to do but never really had time.

Perhaps that stuff isn't interesting and fun to a lot of people, for some, this game really delivers in a lot of ways. So that's why I think some people praise it so much.

And back to the original point, LBP is probably the only game I really got my whole family to play. They all really loved it and thought it was a lot of fun. Definitely what I would pick.
