I am not going to rub it in Aggie fans faces, concidering the tragic death of freshman Brandon Fails early this week.

I just want this to be a sendoff to one of the most underrated players in college football history. Great job Chris, and this Longhorn has enjoyed watching you play the last 2 years. No matter what Major did, you still hold a place in my heart.

Now, good luck in the NFL and may you be fortunate enough to win a Super Bowl like your old man.

Simms still has a shot to win a Cotton Bowl ;). Don't say goodbye just yet...

I was really afraid of another '99, when the Aggies rode the bonfire momentum to victory over what was almost certainly a better team. It's funny the way those things work - sometimes, the team rallies and rides the emotion. Other times, it doesn't happen.

I just hope Roy Williams stays. When he's healthy.. wow. Randy Moss without an attitude.

Just don't tell him you had tickets to his last home game and decided not to go.

I think I will miss Simms but I'll miss him as part of the Freshmen Fall 99 class.

Michael Vike #2 except he's bigger and faster.:D
I can't wait to see him play-- our offense should be even more explosive, hopefully Roy will stay for another year.

Indeed. Chris played one hell of a game for his home finale, I'm happy for him and he seems happy that he played for Texas. I for one will miss him as a quarterback, and I suppose that I can just drool over the idea of Chris redshirting his freshman year, I mean could you imagine? Now we get to start out the year with my highschool qb, Chance Mock. Oh well.

It'll be interesting to see how Mack screws up the next QB controversey.

Sorry Longhorn fans. I wish the Aggies could have given you a little better game, but that's the way it is.

I wanted to jump through the screen and beat up that announcer who kept on saying everyone calling for R.C.'s job needs to "just lay off." Excuse me, but screw you!

I don't have anything against R.C. as a person. In fact, I think he's one of the classiest coaches in all of college football and I appreciate all of his past accomplishments. Unfortunately, right now the team doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Maybe that's okay for some schools, but I don't think that's acceptable at A&M.

Don't Keep RC!!!

You're the man, Chris... keep it going.

I didn't think I'd ever find an athlete I liked more than Tim Duncan, but I have now. Out of all the Texas games I've attended personally in my lifetime, this is one of the top two or three that stands out.

I don't want to turn this into a debate thread, but I did want to note one thing to show the significant progress he's made. Early in his junior season, he did have a habit of locking onto a receiver at times. On one play, in the third quarter, I saw him start off looking to the middle at the tight end, pump fake it to the left side to stall the blitz, and then throw a 20 yard strike to the right to Sloan Thomas. He's become a better quarterback from year to year and from week to week.

With good coaching in the NFL, the sky really is the limit. Good luck to you, Chris... without a doubt, my favorite Longhorn ever.

And congrats to the Ags... I know it didn't work out, but to go out and play as hard as they did today with what happened on Monday takes a lot. Every Aggie I saw after the game was an excellent sport as well... good luck to you folks in the future.

Great game, and hook' em.

why don't you just use the theme from world cup 94 again, but just do Chris Simms instead of Ole' or Yao Ming. It's original!

The Cat, I almost agree with you. I was never a big Simms fan, but after all the criticism he's received, he's become one of my favorites ever. The way he's handled all the crap he's gotten makes him one amazing person.

That, and if people are pissed off about him starting over Major, don't hate Simms, hate Mack.

I have no insight, but I think Mock will be the starter game 1. Expect another ugly QB controversy. Hope Mack learnede his lesson.

Dear Chris,

Don't let the door knob hit you in the ass on your way out.

Sincerely,
Vincent Young

PS Roy, please stay one more year.

I'm a big Young fan but I have to disagree. I don't think Young has near the cutting/running ability of Vick. In fact, I told a lot of friends that I thought Young was going to get hit hard because he tends to run too upright, imo.

Now arm strength is another thing. He has a cannon for an arm. It'll be interesting to see how he has developed with a year of college level weight training and nutrition.

I haven't seen him play other than highlights, etc. I heard that he was faster than Vick (not as quick) in the open field. I definetely wouldn't know for sure, would you compare him more with Culpepper or McNabb in regards to his mobility?

Its going to be interesting to watch how Chris does in the pros, I wonder if Major's lack of success in the NFL will hurt Chris.

Vince is a great athelte, but not in Vick's class, imo. Mobility may be similar to McNabb's, which isn't bad.
