    Would you rather the Rockets field a team of scrappy good guys that never go all the way or a team of d-bags and knuckle heads that win a championship?

    The former.

    Why would I care if we won a championship, if I dislike the team? That wouldn't make much sense.

    I would want the championship team. I only care about the on court product.

    I have no emotional ties to players beyond how productive they are in games.

    Easily the good guys.

    It's not like we've never won a ship, hell.. we won them back to back.

    We're not Utah.. lol @ Jerry Sloan.

    The latter. Mostly because EVERYONE's perception of douchebagness is different and because so much of what we get is nuanced and not a full picture.

    ex: KG is a douchebag because he works too hard and he yells a lot and picks on people smaller then him but Curry is a douchebag because he doesn't work at all and he doesn't care. Chris Paul is a "good guy"...who punches people below the belt. etc. Micheal Jordan is the best...but he also was an incredible jackass to his teammates.

    basically, give me the winning team. I'd love a winning team over a losing team, personality traits just don't matter. This isn't a popularity contest. This is one of the most competitive leagues in the world. Almost everyone there is a douchebag to some degree anyways, if you define douchebag as being fanatically competitive to the detriment of others. Comes with the job description of being one of only 250 people getting paid millions to play a game.

    This.

    Although I guess it's probably easier for someone to say this if they've already had the luxury of watching their team win a couple of titles already.

    I'm just not interested in following a team full of players I don't like. Just like if I was in high school, and every player on the football team was an idiot/jerk/bully, screw 'em. They don't deserve my support.

    It becomes a lot harder to call them D-bags if they're winning for you. Look at Boston. That team is now universally reviled, but in Boston they are beloved. I don't think there's ever been a championship winner that many hometown fans if any shunned because of their douchebaggery. At least not in basketball.

    I'd rather a group of good, smart, selfless guys who hustle their asses off all the way to an NBA championship. This Rockets team might just do that. Hey, it's the NBA, where Amazing happens.

    Very good question, and it's even better to ask this question with this Rockets team around.
    It's simply depends on how you view the sports as a whole. Is sport something only about winning or is it something more? The hustling, the hard works, the team works, do those still mean anything if they don't translate into winning? everyone can have his own taking on this one. But for me, I don't see the term "sport" only belongs to the tallest, the fastest, and the strongest. I enjoy every single second of this Rockets' game, and it's the process that enjoys me, not the result. The term that rewards only the winner is called "war". After all, the most beautiful thing about sports is fight for win, not get the win.

    What's the point of being scrappy and never winning a championship? It's just the LA Clippers with lipstick.

    What was the last DBAG team to win a title? Normally they don't last long in the playoffs and if they do make it deep they get bounced by an overall superior team made of good veterns.

    I guess the definition of DBAG is the question because while I don't like the Lakers or Jazz I don't consider them DBAGs. Denver, on the other hand, is a clear example to me but if a team has one or two DBags but yet surrounded by good quality veterns then I am cool with that.

    This would be the most d-bag team imaginable,
    artest = dont you know your hitting ron artest!
    wallace= scola is trash!
    iverson= it was practice, practice, practice
    bynam= ahhhhhhhhhhhh foul ahhhhhhhh I didn't foul (hands in the air)
    kobe= I rape women.
    coach-jerry sloan.

    I bet no one can think of a more d-bag team.
