Good grief, I'm freaking excited about this squad!

I'm sorry, but adding a guy like Terrence Williams will do nothing but great things for this team, IMO. He's an incredibly versatile player, good at both ends of the floor, knows how to create his own shot and isn't afraid to take it to the rim. With the addition of him, ON PAPER, this team just became a whole lot better (however, as we all know, games are not played on paper). My condolences to Mr. Jermaine Taylor, as he was a casualty of the T-Will pick-up, but sometimes, as the old saying goes, you've got to do what you've got to do.

Thoughts on how good the team looks now with the addition of Williams?

I don't know about defense, but he definitely needs to work on one side of the ball, offense...

A NBDL player from the worst team wont save Rockets' season.

Don't kid yourself. This guy was sent to the NBDL to prove a point. He had no business there whatsoever and Avery Johnson knew that. This guy is a damn good ballplayer who will work out for this team, I think.

Potential to be an excellent two-way player.

Fantastic playmaker with the pass. Great finisher. Potential to be a truly great defender.

I feel worse for Chase. He won't see minutes now.

I hope we can start making a run for the 8th seed. Hope this move doesn't mean the org. has given up on BUD.

I just remember watching him last year as a rookie and thinking this kid could be good, real good. Hopefully, that comes to fruition now that he's in the right uniform ;)

So we have a glut at these positions

    SF
    Battier/Budinger/Terrence Williams

    SG
    Martin/Lee/Terrence Williams

I like the direction. Especially the athleticism from Lee and Williams. Martin and Batttier should be consolidated into another all around defensive guy who can score to solidify the roster even more. Maybe Budinger since he is now expendable? So Budinger and or Lee have become a little more expendable if not all roster spots from these two positions. I would love to see one more deal turning two of these above players into one real good one Morey. Pretty Please...... :)

Okay, let me ask this question since it is apparent that Budinger may be expendable now:

Would y'all agree with this - Williams/C. Lee > Budinger

Terrence Williams has more upside by far so he is probably more talented than Budinger. Courtney Lee is better defensively and can play two spots Sg and SF so I would put Courtney Lee above Budinger. I would play Terrence Williams right away off the bench in Budingers minutes. Just to make it a point that Budinger is slumping and therefore not getting playing time. Let our new acquisition Terrence see if he can get off to a renewed energetic start with his new team, and ride out his enthusiasm to be here and prove himself and see what he has.

He was a first round pick. He was sent to the D-League by Avery Johnson as a punishment. Johnson was highly criticized for doing that as it robs legitimacy from the D-League of actually being an area for player development, and instead turns it into the NBA time-out corner. Regardless, he claims to have "learned his lesson" and seems to be a very talented player. And if we're getting him for a lottery-protected pick, we're getting a good deal.
