I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good restaurants that are fun for large groups? My GF wants to have a dinner for maybe 10-15 people next weekend and I am seeing if theres any good restaurants to go to that we haven't tried. I need a place that could handle a large party, not too expensive, and has good drinks and everything. No italian or indian food please.
No offense, but just about any restaurant can handle a party of 15. Give more details as to what you're specifically looking for.
Somewhere inside 610 would be ideal and not one of those major chain restaurants like Pappadeaux or Cheesecake Factory. I know my description is kind of vague, but if you had any good/great experiences at any restaurants while in a large group it would help.
I'd say Cyclone Anaya's. It has been the trendy place that girls have been having their birthday parties at the past year. http://www.cycloneanaya.com/home.htm
ya we used to go to cyclones all the time...but the waits have been so long that we stopped going...i do like their margaritas though, even tho they are like 15 - 20 bucks a pop
Everytime my Uncle Mario comes to Houston from Sicily, we round up the family and bring him to the Olive Garden.
LOL. In the original post he says "no Italian." 2 of the 4 posts have been Italian suggestions, and really lousy ones, at that.

There's a place on Dairy Ashford named "Tito's" [Mexican Restaurant]. They have a "gathering place" you can reserve on-the-spot. It seats small and a large party ... yours seems like the right size that's what she said.
haha i can't wait to tell my GF we are going to Olive Garden for her birthday! But we might do Cyclones...I am also wondering about that Crave Sushi place in midtown, anyone been there? I might try to go there this weekend to scope it out.
He never said "only 610"; he said "ideal." Heck that's the place that came to my mind the fastest. It's not too far if he is on the western side of town.

Crave is a small place, and if you've got a rowdy bunch, it might not be your best bet. The food was deese -- nothing spectacular. If you are looking for sushi, perhaps try Zake or Rickshaw. Zushi on Memorial/Westcott has a pretty good semi-private room and the food is good.
