In essence Aldridge writes that there is NOT a conspiracy, simply an inconsistency.

One of the easy things the NBA can do to change this scenario is to assign the same refs to every game of a series. Baseball does it in the playoffs and World Series, why not basketball?

Most of the time, all the players and coaches want is consistency. That way, they can adjust their play accordingly.

i still dont understand why they dont assign certain refs for specific violations. just let some shmoe watch the game a hit a buzzer every time some one travels. (even though it would be on 9 out of 10 pocessions) maybe it will teach the players to play by the rules.

have another ref that is only concerned with 3 sec lane violations.

another for defensive violations and so forth. they dont have to clutter up the court, they can just sit behind a bench and watch the game on tv.

the other 3 refs can concern themselves with the fouls.

and on a side rant. why have a free throw rule which states that the shooter can not cross the line before the ball touches the rim (ahem shaq) if you are not going to even acknowledge it... sob:mad:
