[rquoter]The Golden State Warriors have agreed to trade Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, Ike Diogu and Keith McLeod to the Pacers for Stephen Jackson (left), Al Harrington, Sarunas Jasikevicius and Josh Powell, sources tell ESPN.com's Marc Stein. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/index[/rquoter]
This has to be one of the more bizarre trades I've seen in a while. Basically you have two teams trading their secondary stars that they're unhappy with. I have to say, I'm excited for Harrington b/c I have him on my fantasy team.
Wow, splash!! Good for me, though. Stephen Jackson going to the Warriors has to boost his fantasy value.
Stephen Jackson is insane. I would not want him on my team. (I'm sure he is fine for fantasy purposes, however.)
Wow Great Trade for Golden State. Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, Baron Davis, Jason Richardson, Monta Ellis... Lot of good players.
Seems like Golden made out like bandits. They drop two bad contracts and take back some good talent and Sarunas. Unfortunately both teams will continue sucking
Who is expendable out of this deal is what I'm asking. I wish we could have plucked Diogu, but I'm sure he was one of the reasons the Pacers did that deal. It's clear Nellie is unleashing the 48-minutes-of-hell smallball: Baron Davis, Jason Richardson, Monta Ellis, Al Harrington, Mickael Pietrus, Stephen Jackson ... lots of up-and-down players.
Classic Don Nelson trade... get as much raw talent as you can and let them loose on the floor. I'm sure Don is very familiar with Jasikevicius due to Donny Nelson, and I think Powell played in Dallas a couple of years ago.
Why in the world did Indiana make this trade? I thought they were inching closer to blowing up the team and instead they decide to take on bigger, more absurd contracts. So how does this work now? Murphy at center? O'Neal at Center? Dunleavy backs up Granger? Diogu at PF? Nice job Larry Bird, one heckuva deal
This deal might be the predecessor of another blockbuster that will include Jermaine O'Neal. Don't forget two weeks ago O'Neal went public that a trade might be good for all parties involved. Pacers could be preparing to waive the white flag.
