My first thoughts are that they got the best picture and best TV drama absolutely correct. I loved Traffic, but Gladiator was such a well directed, acted, and photographed film that it deserves the award. As for West Wing, it is easily the best show on network TV, bar none. ------------------ I am Jack's utter lack of surprise. www.clutchtown.com
Sarah Michelle Geller wuz robbed. i hated Gladiator. i'd have picked Erin Brokovich. ------------------
Wonder Boys will go down in history as the most ignored brilliant piece of filmmaking. I like the Almost Famous choice (though I'd have picked O Brother, Where Art Thou out of the nominated ones). Gladiator winning was a joke.
outlaw, Jeff, RM95... that's it. We can't be friends anymore. Seriously, what did y'all hate about it? ------------------ I am Jack's utter lack of surprise. www.clutchtown.com
How about the guy from Ally MacBeal making a convict joke. That was hilarious. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
Sam, it was OK. I just didn't think it was that good. I can't think of one thing I hated, nor one thing I liked. Perfect definition of a mediocre movie, IMO.
i was just bored. joaquin phoenix annoyed me. the plot just seemed hackneyed and predictable. typical Hollywood pablum, like Titanic. ------------------
You were expecting a different ending to Titanic? ------------------ 'Deeds, not words, shall speak me.'
I can see that point. You guys were looking for plot. To me the movie was about kick-ass fighting/battle scenes and some very nice cinematography, and the pacing was quick. I thought Crowe did a fine job. If you're not a fan of the genre though, you might not have had fun. ------------------ I am Jack's utter lack of surprise. www.clutchtown.com
Who cares about the Golden Globes? The whole thing is an obvious sham. After all, if Bob Dylan can weasel his way into a win for best orginal song when there are WAY more relevant songs out there then the whole thing is exposed as a fraud. dylan ------------------
What was the deal with Al Pacino borrowing Bob Dylan's Hair???? ------------------ CUT Tino These Heaves are just getting Ridiculous!
I loved Gladiator. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams fan club. Web site coming soon atheistalliance.org
I liked Gladiator a LOT. Then again, those type of intense movies where its the few down trodden against the big national powers are something I absolutely love watching. Gladiator, Braveheart, The Patriot (which btw I am stunned a lot of folks I talked to didnt like), etc were all excellent movies. I am really big on movies with some kind of historical event behind them (anyone see Thirteen Days?) and ones that have really intricate story plots. There is a fine line between something that is different and something that is completely too wierd which I cant stand (Magnolia). Btw, Russell Crowe is a damn good actor, The Insider, Proof of Life and Gladiator were all excellent movies. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
I believe Bob dylan deserved his award he is a poet and a brilliant musician even though he cannot sing worth a flip. ------------------ KD 12-21-99
Btw, Russell Crowe is a damn good actor, The Insider, Proof of Life and Gladiator were all excellent movies. L.A. Confidential, too. ------------------

Kudos to Benecio del Toro. He's one of my favorite actors. Viva Franky Four Fingers! ------------------
Have you even listened to the song? Since when is a music legend winning an award such a surprise? The guy is a genius, and deserves every award he gets. He was one of the few people to get a standing O. It is a great song, and he was honored for it. ------------------ "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning how to put food on their family while being put to death."
