has anyone ever gone? What should I expect? Do they sell beer?

Is it better/worse/same as watching on tv?

Because there is probably a billion better things to do in NYC than go to the NFL Draft. I hate watching it on TV because it is so slow and nauseatingly boring, I can't imagine being there with jack **** to do except wait.

I hope they sell beer there, as drunk as the Giants and Jets fans seem to be when their 1st round picks are announced

I think the Jets failing to draft a fan favorite and the resulting chorus of boos has to be the highlight of the day. :)

You don't really think they have nothing for the people in the crowd to do between picks do you?

I went for the 2005 draft and it was fun. It's a lot of fun apparently, if the Giants and Jets both have first round picks which, IIRC, they did not in 2005. They have games set up, they have contests and what not between picks, you get some free stuff which is pretty cool. They also do a contest for who can pick the first round correctly. I can't remember if they sell beer or not because I was extremely hungover that day after the Yankees game the night before and I was saving up for game 1 of the Mavs series later that day.

You'll have fun, it was a great experience. Except for the whole trading down and not taking DJ or an OL instead of Travis Johnson.

I think you are lying to trick him into going to something really, really boring. I'd almost bet money that people sit around playing Stratego and doing Saduko puzzles when they aren't announcing the picks.

Good news is they shortened the 1st round picks to 10 minutes and the 2nd round to 7 minutes. Also, the first day is now only the first 2 rounds and starts at 3 pm ET instead of noon.

So, it won't be nearly as painful to watch on tv as it has been the past few years.

I'd love to go at least once. I think it would be a blast.
