I dont know the extent of the Cartel actions along the border. I see it all them all the time being walked in and out of the courthouse, but Im curious as to how safe it would actually be. I would probably consider going early December, and drive down and maybe stay at a resort somewhere close by. Anybody ever been? How expensive is stuff down there, fairly cheap? In my head I see myself staying down there for 3 or 4 days. Any advice?
Have you thought about New Mexico? They have huts and tents just like they do in real Mexico. Also maize.
