Well, my wife and I are finally taking the vacation we've been talking about for a long time now - and we're going to Hawaii! :)

We'll be staying on Oahu the whole time, but we definitely wanna get away from the city as much as possible. So I was wondering, what are your must see/do places in Hawaii?

    Thanks!

If you go to Pearl Harbor know that it is free. If you pay for a "tour" from your hotel, you are really paying for transportation to and from the monument. If you do go to Peal Harbor (and you have the time - which you won't if you go with a "tour"), there is a cool WWII submarine museum next door where you can go aboard a real WWII sub. The sub museaum costs money but my wife and I thought it was pretty cool.

You may want to go to a luau. However, in my opinion it was not that cool. Having said that, I suppose if you go to Hawaii, you should see at least one luau.

Other than that, my wife and I didn't spend a whole lot of time on Ohau. We spent most of our time on Kauai and the Big Island. Have fun. It's beautiful.

Luau are great. There are many places for them. Most are small private productions. The one that you shouldn't miss is the one at the Polynesian Cultural Center.

I lived on Oahu for my first two years of college. I would highly recommend visiting Pipeline. I know of nowhere else on earth where such powerful, perfect waves break so close to shore. If it is breaking you will not be disappointed. Just to be clear, I'm talking about going to watch some incredible surfing, not going into the water yourself. I never surfed Pipeline while I lived in Hawaii. It was well beyond my level. The front desk at your hotel will probably be able to tell you how to get there, and if it is breaking.
