I am going to Austin this weekend to celebrate my birthday and hang out with some buddies. My birthday is Saturday and it just so happens that the Astros play on that day. Where is a good place to watch the Astros game on Saturday in Austin? Also, that same night, where is a good place to hang out to celebrate my B-day. It would be a great b-day present to have the Astros finish off the Braves on sat. Help me out Guys!!!

By the way, I'll be 24; man I am getting old!!!!!!!!

My 21st birthday is Friday, however I won't be hitting up 6th St, till next weekend. So, if any of you could list some good cheap bars, it would be great.

Just about everywhere here plays ESPN if they have TV's.

    Aussies is good.
    Waterloo Ice House is good.
    Pluckers is good too.

It's really up to you about what kind of place you're looking for.

No. Aussies is just south of downtown, the other two are in mid-town around UT and just slightly north of.

I don't usually go downtown unless I have to. If that's where you're looking for, I can't help you.

And as far as any of the bars go, if you go early enough, they're all pretty cheap for 21+. Most won't give cover charges till 11 or so, and all of them have specials.

It doesn't matter what part of town we go to. It can be 6th street or wherever. Just really want some options!!!!

Nicest sports bar in town is the Fox and Hound on 4th and Lavaca. They should have a pretty large crowd for the game.

BW3 on 6th is an okay spot. Coppertank on 5th and Trinity is also a great place to watch. Really, the city of Austin is rallying around the Astros, and it should be good just about anywhere.

There is a Buffalo Wings Wild (BW3) on 6th that's pretty good. I've watched a few Rocket's games there. I heard a commercial for some place called Ringers today on the radio durning the Astros game. Its on 5th and Colorado. Ive never been there , but the radio commercial made it sound like a good time. The other places mentioned in this thread are also good. Pluckers is more of a college hangout though.

We need a photo finish on that one. A tenth of a second may have decided the victory. :D
