Well, my 21st B-day is May 16th and I'm taking a trip to Lake Charles(I want to go to vegas later in the summer) but I just want some tips on what games I should play and shouldn't play. I want to stay away from slot machines and video poker just because the odds of winning and payouts aren't that good. I know how to play craps and pretty much any type of poker. I love 3 card poker, pai gow, and let it ride. However, playing these games on the computer are much different than being at the actual casino.

This is my first trip so I am going to be extremely careful not to get too crazy with my money. What do you guys recommend?

Leave most of your cash in the room.

Roulette - Play the outside. Odd or even; black or red; 1-12, 13-24, 35-36. Always place a dollar between 0 and 00.

Black Jack - Dont hit on 14!

I barely ever ever play blackjack, but I think the odds are against you if you hit on 14 or above.

I agree with all of R0ckets03's recommendations. And make sure you don't take too much money with you. Also, you should consider leaving all your credit cards etc. at home, so that you can't withdraw more money "to win it back" after you lose. That normally just ends in losing more money.

    #1 rule -

Don't bet anything you don't expect to loose. There's a reason Casinos are soo nice. On average the odds are in their favor and they take money from more people than they loose to.

    #2 -

The 'system' that the guy next to you is talking about doesn't work, or else he'd be at home, counting the cash, making sure nobody else knew how he did it.

    #3 -

If the odds look too good to be true, they are.

#4 - Look for the wrinkled old ladies at the broken down places. The odds there have to be good or else nobody'd go. Also look for places with the most competition. (Don't bet at the first place over the border) They have to give good odds too. In vegas, the new places like the MGM Grand have crappy odds 'cause they attract the 'hip croud'. Also, the worst odds in Vegas are the slot machines at the airport. They have no competition.

Good places in vegas include 'Circus Circus' and 'The Riveria'.

#5 - IMHO, the most intresting/engaging game is craps, but it takes lots of research to even understand the basics. If you're willing to invest the time, however, it seems to be the fastest/most complex.

You can also hedge your bets/bet against the shooter and maxamise your time. That's the key. You want to avoid games that can eat up a large chunk of cash in a short period.

#6 - Finally, slot machines are notorious for being unable to get an advantage at. If you don't want to know what the hell you're doing, play the slots. At least you won't have any major disadvantage.

The first time I went to Vegas, I was kinda scared to get into a card game, as I was afraid I'd make a fool of myself. I ended up playing $25 dollar slots with the fat old ladies and loosing $500 in like 20 minutes.

If you want to actually get the odds more in your favor, however, avoid them like the plague.
