I took a free kick for an offside penalty with a wind like that at my back and hit the cross bar from about 75-80 yards out. /great moments in KC's high school athletic history
Thanks for posting that, I wanted to see it, did you read Howards comments about him not wanting to celebrate because it was against another keeper? Class act. And Everton is going to become one of my favs as soon as Donovan signs there in a week or so. DD
DOH !!! I saw that when I read the ESPN article....gonna have to catch a few games. I am honestly hoping he stays there this time....he needs to play in that league now, he has done everything he can in the MSL. DD
the thing is though...he'll never do anything with Everton they will always be middle of the pack to lower in the EPL.
The thing was though that the goalie reacted to it and had it been low enough to go in he probably would have tipped it with his fingers. He may have saved it or it might have been a goal.
He will be back to the MLS, this is just an offseason thing, just to not be out of shape when the MLS season begins again. Thierry Henry also going to the Arsenal for the same reason.
Sometimes the big clubs purchase them, Donovan wanted to stay last time, I could see him forcing his way over there, at least I hope he does. DD
"I was delighted that we were in the lead and would hopefully go on to get three points, but it's not a nice feeling for a keeper. It's really awful actually," Howard told Sky Sports. "For the back four and the goalkeepers at both ends, there was an awful wind swirling. You could see everybody was mistiming balls. Defenders were missing clearances that normally they would put up the field. I think the wind is the hardest condition to play in. Snow, rain, sun doesn't matter, but the wind really does play tricks on you." Howard spoke with Bogdan after the match. "I let him know that I was feeling for him," Howard said. "It's not a nice place to be. I've been there before, a long, long time ago, and that was why I didn't celebrate." -Tim Howard on the 100-yard goal. Classy goalkeeper he is.
I hate how FIFA pulls videos down, don't they realize it is helping spread the popularity of the sport? DD
