I saw the poll already on the subject, and I was just surprised that it is the ONLY thread dealing with the Stanley Cup Finals between Tampa Bay and Calgary. I am actually a huge Calgary fan, and maybe that's why I've started to care a bit more this season about the NHL Playoffs than in years past. But come on, on a Rockets website how can you NOT pull for the 6 seed? I'm pretty much scheduling everything for the next week and a half around this series. Tampa has some incredible talent in their forwards but it's tough to match Calgary's resolve that they've had this whole playoffs. I realize that a lot of people don't really care about hockey (I live in UTAH, most people can't name a single team not called Avalanche), but I have been meaning to find out how many other people out there care about hockey enough to say something about the series. Thoughts?
i am a longtime canucks fan but i go to school close to calgary (so, i'm living back in vancouver now - since my year is over). I was at game 7 this year between the flames and the canucks and it was amazing. the tying goal was the most exciting goal i've seen in my life. yet the flames ignored the momentum change and kept on fighting. that is what they have done all year and all playoffs. when i was at a vancouver AT calgary game earlier this year -- the crowd was seriously about 40% canucks fans -- i don't think i'll ever see that at Pengrowth Saddledome again. Flames are a team with an amazing work ethic and it will win them the cup -- lets hope they can seal the deal unlike the canucks of 94.
The first hockey game I went to was in Calgary vs. LA Kings...Had dinner in the Chrysler Room (Bad Azz)...I still have the hockey puck I bought there... TV doesn't do it justice...JIginla is a freakin' maniac...Flames in 5...
I'm a diehard Canucks fan, and I really hope Calgary wins. I was in Vancouver yesterday and saw a billboard near the Massey tunnel that said Go Flames Go--I nearly drove off the highway in disbelief.
Boy, did we get spanked tonight. It'll be okay, though, if we can just figure out how to win at Pengrowth. LET'S GO FLAMES!!!
