you think shaq isn't having an influence on the nba? big aristotle is making things happen. for starters, I'm still hoping that hakeem is just enjoying his moment of being the belle of the ball, so to speak, and that he is going to re-sign with the rockets. but let's say he goes to any of the eastern weaklings [toronto, indiana, new york, et al.]. . . then you would have mutombo, olajuwon, mourning and ewing all in the east, not to mention theo ratliff, eddy curry and kwame brown. is this a trend? you bet your sweet bippy it is. why is it that all of these "big" men are turning into such wooses? in two years, the admiral will probably sign with the nets [or any other eastern weakling] while duncan will go to the celtics[or any other eastern weakling]. and poor shaq will have to hang out on the west all-star team with jason collier and shawn bradley. I say we just put larry smith back in the lineup and let him show all these fraidy-cats how a real "big" man plays. ------------------ houston rockets = 2 utah jazz = 0
So you think Hakeem is afraid of Shaq? LOL. Good one. ------------------ "I guess that's YOUR theory"

Kwame and Eddy couldn't help where they went since they were drafted. Mutombo has pretty much always been in the east except for a brief stint with Denver. Same goes for Mourning. Same with Theo Ratliff. The only one who's actually running away from Shaq and the Lakers is perhaps Ewing. ------------------ its not the hours you put in your work that counts, it's the work you put in the hours - alaskansnowman
Webber is afraid of Shaq, but 30 million extra is enough to soothe him, apparently. ------------------ "I guess that's YOUR theory"
Barkley isn't/wasn't afraid of Shaq. ------------------ " If all babies are cute, why are there so many ugly people?"
The secret to playing Shaq is making the first move. I recomend poking him in the eye. ------------------ T-Pooh and BahDakota went up the hill, to make a bet on a Forward. When it all came down, they were nowhere to be found. Now they should be drawn and quartered.
Barkley said he was in 1996, when Dream got arhythmia. What is up with Dream's wimpy ass injuries anyhow? Dream, my heart flutters all the time!!!
Hakeem is no longer young or strong enough to match up with Shaq, but he is not afraid of him. ------------------

Good thing Dream knows his body so well, he might have died several times over with that Reggie Lewis arrhythmia and those JR Richard blood clots.
I could have sworn that was Hakeem getting repeatedly knocked off his feet, out of the lane, and onto the bench with foul trouble by Shaq's tuchus in our '99 rush to the playoff exit. If Hakeem isn't afraid of Shaq, the credit goes to his pride, not his brains. If I were GM of the Rockets, and I were offered the opportunity to trade Hakeem, Francis, and Mobley for Shaq this offseason, and I passed it up, Hakeem would be surprised, and I would be fired. P.S. Best thread title ever (if a bit cruel).
