how can this be news? It normally rose .2 cm, now it's up to .5 each year the past decade? They should have seen this coming before anyone was talking about global warming at all.

Was doing some reading and actually, for most of Earth's history the planet has been warm enough to have no permanent ice. In actuality, we're in an ice age right now. There is no reason to believe it will last much longer. It could be argued that humans are accelerating the warming process, but it would have happened sooner or later regardless.

BTW, I hate the term "Global Warming"....its "Global Climate Change".

So it rose .2 inches this year? and then the island was gone?

So, the entire island was .2 inches high?

Yeah this is what I was thinking. If these clowns were fighting over something that was .2 inches of water away from not existing anymore, then they suck at life.

At least they'll know how to get there whenever they want since they are so used to hopping aboard the FAILboat.

    Stop missing the point!

This means we have to redistribute our wealth to the poorer nations! Don't you GET it?

I predict a potential sick surfing spot...a la Cortes Bank. Yeah...I know it's not the same geological structure...but would be cool if it really happened. Plus, I get to post vids of giant waves.

Guess the longstanding dispute over the island is over now. Wonder if they lost any Bengal Tigers?

Hey I still want it. Just build a little levee. It could be like New Orleans.
