I'm going to go ahead and make my claim now so that when the season gets into full swing we can all look back and realize that I am a great predictor like Nortradamus. Actually, I just get this feeling that he's going to contribute enough to warrant that trade that we made for him. Anyone have thoughts? I predict he will score 12 points per game. That should be plenty on this team.

No offense, but this prediction seems to come a little late for you to proclaim yourself a Nostradamos. What about all the fans who have defended Glen Rice over the past year when things were not going too well for him? Jumping on the Rice bandwagon (I never thought those two words would actually be put together) after he has a spectacular practice seems a little "fair weather" to me.

First of all, you have to hobble onto the Rice bandwagon. Jumping is no longer an option. However, more than three months ago yours truly predicted Rice would have a banner year because he wants to go out with a bang rather than a whimper. Even hobbled with his foot and knee injuries he was out before every game and practice draining three after three. Granted, there was no hand in his face, but he will be deadly if his defender is double teaming someone else.

I've been on the Rice bandwagon the whole way, and I'm probably one of the few who liked the trade we made to get him. I never once suggested of trading him or buying out his contract, etc. I agree though; now is the time when people will come from out of nowhere and say they knew he'd be good all along

Maybe that's why he called himself a nortradamus.

...and Clutch just posted info about training camp saying Rice was the highlight of the day, but I guess that is a coincidence since you haven't read that.

I seem to recall there was a Cato bandwagon for a few weeks last year too. :)

Seriously, I hope he can recapture some of his past glory, he was one of my fav players of all time. I can see being against the trade, but I never understood why people dogged him so much.

sorry, as good as he looks, I can't see him scoring 12 pts a game.
I can't help to doubt him...after all, in his interview he talked about trying to get into the same shape(weight) as his charlotte days...he says he's down to 226. Only problem is that last year he weighed in at 220.

Is it just me or does Rice look skinnier in that picture on the homepage? Almost can't recognize him anymore. Not saying he was ever fat but he looks to be in good shape.

Last year he was fat by NBA standards. You can see the difference in his face and neck. He looks to be in great shape. If he can be 3/4ths the player he used to be, we will have a deadly team.

His body will break down again...he is getting old.....he will do well in spurts, but is not someone to be counted on as a leader....but as a role player like EJ was a few years ago....sure.

Glen Rice contributed zero his lat year as a Knick and last year as a Rocket. It is reasonable to assume that age and injury had worn him down. A healthy contributing Glenn Rice would be unexpected, and a boost. A return to the form of a 4 years ago would be awesome.

Simmer down now, I said the season. I have thought that Glen Rice had some of his old self still, but the difference is that I am proclaiming it. I'll also predict another thing to prove my nostrability: Three Rockets will make the All-Star team and we will start the season with 8 straight wins.

For the record, even if I am right, I won't get a big head. These are just predictions.

If Rice had a horrible day today, you wouldnt be claiming anything.

glen rice is one of the greatest 3 point shooters in nba history.
he has the most points in a half, in an allstar game, in history...
if dell curry and eddie johnson can do what they did at the tail end of their careers..its plausible to think glen rice can have a very signigicant year...which might not be the tail end....

I was the president of that club. :(

You guys leave Nostradamus Jr. alone. At least he is being positive. Nothing wrong with that.

it's funny how we call it a damn bandwagon. I doubted Rice. I thought he would never come back. But to give you real thought, this is how it's gonna be. He'll play for about 30 games, then nagging injuries will come up causing him to see less playing time. Oh by the way, Rice is "STILL" gonna have no defense. I'm saying all this, but i hope i'm wrong.
