Why do I have a strong feeling that Glen Rice is going to once again spend the bulk of this season on the injured list? Why are we as fans so quick to forgive, and actually be optimistic about players like him, just because we hear he's been shooting well in the offseason? Rice is done....and he is a joke. I would love for him to prove me wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.
What is there to forgive? The player got hurt. Like he is suppose to say he's sorry for that? Come on man you're pushing it.
98-99 Lal .432 fg % 17.5 pt 99-00 Lal .430 fg % 15.9 pts 00-01 Nyk .440 fg % 12.0 pts Not bad for being a third option. BTW he wasn't healthy in NY either. Fat, This just proves you don't have a freakin clue.
hmmm......his points are decreasing as he is aging, and he isn't healthy. seems like a pretty good time to acquire a player. also, those stats don't exactly indicate what kind of a defensive player he is, nor do they show how much money we are wasting on him to have as a "third option". don't come and ambush me telling me i don't have a freaking clue. i stated my opinion, that's all. the guy is worthless, just like your point of view, rockbox.
Is it a requirement on this board to vehemently hate one of our players? I must have not read the uer agreement very carefully when I signed up... OK, I hate.......Eddie Griffin! I think he's the only Rockets player that nobody has bashed yet... Clutch, can you change my name to GriffinSux?
Hey, leave Griff outta this!!! A-Train, (while it's fresh)lets start the M*P*F*B*G. Members Preventing the Future Bashing of Griff.
The last time Rice was healthy was three years ago when he was with the Lakers. He averaged 15.9 pts while shooting 43% from the field while being the third option behind Shaq and Kobe who are arguably the best players at their position in the NBA. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but at least back your opinion with some resemblance of a fact or two. Otherwise, people, myself included, will continue to assume you are clueless.
Glen Rice is only here to get Shandon off the Rockets books sooner. Any extras from Rice is a bonus. Its better than having Shandon for another 5 years.
Rice can no longer handle 30+ minutes a game, but there is no reason why he can't handle 20-25 minutes. With Boki steadily getting more and more PT as the season goes a long it really shouldn't matter.
Why do I have a strong feeling that Glen Rice is going to once again spend the bulk of this season on the injured list I don't know, heartburn? Why are we as fans so quick to forgive, and actually be optimistic about players like him, just because we hear he's been shooting well in the offseason? I don't know, because Rockets staff, players, coaches and people around him think he's looking good. Meanwhile you haven't been around him yet are telling us he will be out for the year with an injury. But you're right, why forgive a player for getting injured? I say we hate Rice, Mo, Steve, Mobes, and whoever else for getting injured while helping the team or getting ready to help the team. Rice is done....and he is a joke. Thank you God. Can you tell us who will make the playoffs this year? Also when is the end of the world. Nevermind, I don't want to know! I would love for him to prove me wrong, but I'm not holding my breath. Obviously you wouldn't love for him to prove you wrong if you're not willing to "forgive" him and give him, you know, at least the PRESEASON before you call him a "joke" and say he's done. You want him to prove you wrong, yet you're already ripping the guy before he even plays one preseason game. Yeah, you're REALLY pulling for the guy.
pull the stick out of your ass man. and, please....backup your opinions with facts for crying out loud. the rockets are my team, and i hope he doesn't stink up the joint and helps them out....i'm just saying that these days of sitting out of camp and whatnot seem to be pretty good indicators of what we can expect of him throughout the season.
Dawg, it's precautionary. If you what you said was true, Mobley, Norris, and Taylor will be like this through the season too. Anyone coming off surgery will experience soreness and will need to take it very slowly.
pull the stick out of your ass man. and, please....backup your opinions with facts for crying out loud. Oh I'm sorry, I misunderstood you calling Rice a joke and being out with an injury with you actually giving the guy a chance. the rockets are my team, and i hope he doesn't stink up the joint and helps them out....i'm just saying that these days of sitting out of camp and whatnot seem to be pretty good indicators of what we can expect of him throughout the season. If you had read the article, or knew about leg injuries you would know that it was PRECAUTIONARY! He could have played, but the Rockets didn't him to overwork the knee. The same thing with Mo. What do you want, Rice and Mo to go to their first work outs full speed and screw up their knee. You're trying to twist this into "look Rice is sitting out, he's injured again", when it's just a case of the Rockets, a team that is injury prone, being careful with players coming off their first career major injuries. It's just funny, everybody is positive coming in waiting to see what happens, and you're trashing players without giving them a chance to prove themselves. At least wait for a few preseason games before you start posting "Glen Rice is done and is a joke, but I REALLY want him to do well and prove me wrong, really I do!".
What Glenn can bring to the floor when he is able to play will be good enough for 20-30 minutes. He'll give floor leadership and some scoring. I agree that defensively, he'd have trouble guarding a 16 yr old girl. But now with KT sharing time at the 3, Boki and TMo as backup, there really shouldn't be any complaints at the SF position anymore.
