I'm read a lot of posts that talk about how the Rockets will improve when Glen Rice returns to the lineup. Personally, I think this completely wrong. Glen Rice is not an asset to the Rockets. Like Mobley, his hands have the gravitational force of a black hole. You pass him the ball, you never see it again because all he can do is shoot. All he can do is shoot a three. He can't defend, he can't pass, he can't dribble. Plus, he b****es if he doesn't get enough touches. When he played with the Lakers, he was a f-cking cancer, always b****ing even though the Laker were winning all their games. Right after they won the championship, they traded his ass and promptly won two more championships without his help. Upon his return to the Rockets lineup, I see him jacking up frequent bricks, getting burned on defense, and complaining about his lack of touches. Plus, before Yao showed up, while Francis and Mobley talked about how excited they were to see what Yao could do, all Glen Rice could talk about was how much he looked forward to getting Yao to carry his bags and get him food. Get a life, Glen Rice. Just because you're a veteran, doesn't mean you deserve any respect. You should carry Yao's bags and fetch him donuts, but then again, I don't think, you're worthy to carry Yao's jockstrap. Also, is there anything more annoying that when a player refers to himself in the third person? Glen Rice does this all the time.

Not having him around certainly hasn't helped us...

i don't know. if he doesn't make his outside shooter, he's a liability in defense. what happened to his post offense? he used to be a good post up player.

Even if he doesn't make his shots, he is still an outside threat to other teams, which frees up space for Francis, Mobley, and Yao.

Also, we haven't been playing well without him. If we ran off a long streak, with Rice on the IR, then you have a point.

But seeing how we have sucked without him, b****ing about Rice is really asinine.

The mistake quite a few people are making is to think that we need to make big, gigantic changes. Only subtle changes are needed at this point. What subtle changes? Well bringing Glen Rice back off the bench is one. As a 12-16 min player, this could be huge. If he is brought in behind Mobley then that would allow the team to ease up some of the heavy minutes Mobley is carrying; in addition to bringing some additional scoring punch off the bench. So we are not looking for a big answer we are just looking for a collection of small answers, including the further development of EG, Ming and Tmo, move MoT's comeback further along and further integrate, and rely on, James Posey. Just little things are going to go along way.

Great post, in a stupid thread.

You're right, subtle changes can go a long way. Look at Por, they sucked until they inserted Pippen at PG.

We just need some tweaking within the CURRENT ROSTER to play to the level of expectations.

I'm not sure what tweaking is needed, but if I did, I would be coaching in the NBA right now.

the rox won't get near the championship if they don't bring in a rebounder. also, their bench is very thin.

Posey isn't quite consistent. Boki isn't ready. We need Rice to play.

    Thanks Kid.

James, the team is among the best in the league at rebounding. In fact you could not find a team with a better rebounding group than Ming, EG, Cato, Tmo, Posey, MoT and Wink.

So, does moving Francis to shooting guard count as a "big change" or "small change"?

if the rox moves francis to shooting guard, they better get a point guard that is a pure point guard who knows only one thing in offense. that's pass the damn ball.

In agreement with DearRock and kidrock (we love them roxs), Rice makes our bench deeper. Right now, I look at our 9-12 guys (TMo, Hawkins, Collier, Boki) and pray that none of the guys ahead of them get injured. Okay, TMo is not that bad but at least you know when Rice busts out, it could mean 20 pts. With him coming off the bench, it gives Rudy some flexibility...go offense or go defense. And when Cuttino's off, who's gonna be our outside threat?? We need Rice.

I love the peas myself. I used to eat a Marie Callendar's Chicken Pot Pie every other day for 3 months straight. Then I got completely sick of them and didn't touch another one till a month ago. Good thing too because those things are loaded with fat

OK, now that I typed something related to the thread topic...I LOVE the Marie Callendar's fried chicken and mashed potatoes dinner! Easily the best TV dinner ever...the gravy that comes with that....mmmmmmm, gravy...
