The Celtics announced Monday that they've re-signed the power forward to a new deal. It's reportedly for two years.

Davis, a two-year pro out of Louisiana State, was a restricted free agent.

After averaging seven points per game during the regular season, the 6-foot-9, 289-pound forward emerged in the playoffs, improving to 15.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

Well, he certinly showed alot of emotion after that shot, and that was also one of the best moment of last year`s playoffs, I thought the celtics had to keep him, and they did.. Good for them :)

IMO, this is about what Davis deserved. I think he played above his head in the playoffs. If he keeps the weight off and produces 15/6 two more years, then he will get something long term.

This would really be the best case for him. No other team would offer the same offer the Celtics gave him. This includes playing time and monetary issues.

No way he gets 15/6 unless KG is hurt again, plus sheed is here, they are now loaded at the front court positions. Remember they got Sheldon Williams too.

Add Perkins as well. KG, Sheed and Perkins are going to get the bulk of the minutes at 4 and 5. Davis would be lucky to get 15 mins and I'm not so sure Sheldon can even get 10.

The Celtics are just stock piling big men as an insurance for injuries. However, this could back fire for some of them because they could end up rotting in the bench.

Yeah - that'd be bad because the rotten big men will stink out the arena and they'll have trouble selling tickets.
