You know what? I don't think the current No-Mac Rockets can be playing as well offensively as they do now, were they still under JVG. The extra passing, motion, really helped the team in getting the points. So, I shall give props where it's due. Nice job, RA.

    Oh, and Rafer, you too.

i want Brian Hill, Mike Fratello, or JVG to be our defensive assistant coach. Adelman with anyone of them will be unstoppable.

I think the Rockets are 3rd in the league in FG% so we haven't dropped off any defensively ....

IMO (assuming Wells still resigned and got into shape) Van Gundy would utilize Mike James and Wells getting enough out of them to suffice. And Yao would be around the 27ppg mark in McGrady's absence.

Gundy would also let Rafer have whatever shot he pleased and settle for the jumper instead of look for the closer around the basket. I dunno. Bonzi wouldn't play this big for JVG either. No way.

I'm most impressed with the fact the they can have different player stepping up in different games.

JVG won't accept anything less than a head coaching gig if he returns to coaching.

I agree it would be a nice combo with him and Adelman but it won't happen.

I doubt Fratello would do the assistant thing, either.

    I don't know about Hill.

We shouldn't have let Tom T. go. If we had kept him, our defense would not be so inconsistent at the beginning of the season. Although now it seems to be getting better, more consistency.

Great 4 game winning streak, I love it! But, I'm not praising Adelman yet until we beat some legit teams. With or without t-mac.

The best thing is the SPACING!

The players really have a lot of room to operate. The guys are really starting to look comfortable out there.

I didn't call for Rick's head when we were losing and I'm not giving him coach of the year now. I'll wait til the end of the year to judge his progress.

We have looked alot better recently, though we havent exactly been playing contenders. Still with no Tmac you couldn't ask for much more than we have given. Just remember that we have had nice showings in past regular seasons, just look at the stretch last year when Yao was out. I like the direction we have been heading the past few weeks, but this team is more talented than any JVG had so it should be performing better. In the end playoff success or failure will be the measuring stick for Rick just like it was for JVG.

Does anyone know what coach JS does to work with YM? TT used to be in charge of YM, now I presume Hall of Famer JS is the big man coach.

might be saying this repeatedly in threads,

How Yao has been for his team has been Tim Duncan-like. Thats the name and style that keeps coming to mind.

He's playing good non-flashy fundamental basketball. Low post scoring, some high post game mixed in, sound effort on defense, grabbing rebounds, making the necessary passes for scores. Being both unselfish team guy and the go-to guy when needed. "Quietly" accumulating stats as the game progresses...

    Good job, big fella
