There was another article about how Yao is tired in the Chronicle.

What good can possibly come of having him play the meaningless last game tonight versus the Mavericks.

For that matter, give most of the starters at most token minutes.

I agree -- we should have a lineup of:

    Wilks
    Pike
    Boki
    Padgett
    Weatherspoon

For the majority of the game. No reason to do anything but rest your starters.

are yall serious??? playoffs is coming and yao needs to play to keep his game up. iMO, 2nd year players don't deserve to sit out any games, he hasn't been in the L long enough to get benefits. yeah i kno yao is tired or whatever but he is going to have to get in shape sometime so why not play him?

I agree to an extent, but (here comes my armchair coaching)...

I think we should have all our starters out there to keep 'em sharp, but keep their playing time low (around 15 - 20 minutes). Don't want to risk injury in a useless game.

There is no reason anyone other than the scrubs should go more than 20 minutes tonight.

If Dallas goes full strength than Houston should too. What better team to play right before Sacramento? It would help them prepare. But I expect both teams to unload their bench's

I agree with Droxford and Jeff, let them play, but not too much. This should help keep them sharp, but not tire them out.

This has nothing to do with being a 2nd year player. This game means nothing to either team play-off wise. Both are locked in at the 5 and 7, I wouldn't expect either team to play their starters much, especially in the second half. Why risk getting one of your star players hurt for nothing?

Give Yao a few minutes. He's the only guy from 2002 class who has never missed a game so far. Keep the streak alive.

He needs the rest and its better to have him rested for the playoffs...More than likely, he won't play that much since it'll be on national TV...

Yao can't take a night off. He is one of the top NBA current leaders in consecutive games played.

    look here for discussion

That said him playing just 20 minutes or less is a good idea.

No doubt Yao's playing tonight. JVG wants him to play and he wants to play. You could tell during the Seattle game that Yao had a little pep in his step. I think he's having a good time playing without all the pressure and being the man on the floor without Steve and Cat playing.

let him start, but play for 20 minutes at most.
He has started for the last 152 games, why stop that streak now? Keep it going and hope it will end (means no injury).

On the Mavericks post-game last night, Nellie was making noises to that effect. His attitude was that since they had 5th place locked up, tonight's game with the Rockets was not all that important.

You'll probably see a high-scoring game tonight. Both teams will give up buckets to avoid injuries and fatigue. It probably will be a fun game to watch because both teams will probably play light-hearted.
