Yao is helping everyone, blocking shots when Dwill get's by Rafer (often), AK-0 gets by Tmac. I wish someone would cut off Boozer when he makes that drive. Boozer is a horrible passer and we should force him to passout and allow Yao to recover.

    It is called TEAM DEFENSE

I agree that Yao has his hands full on both ends: to defend Jazz's best player (damn even without any help from his teammates); while Yao has to play against double team on offensive end. I hope we can double Boozer if necessary. But the problem is that every Jazz can shoot (maybe except AK? ). So what can we do?

Carlos Boozer is a great player and by no means a "bad passer" He is a well above average passer and he can beat you by setting up his teammates. JVG needs to figure something out. I think he should switch Yao back on Okur because Boozer's buckets are way too easy.

A weakside double with Tmac and Yao on Boozer will definitely force some bad passes by Boozer since both are tall with long arms. Boozer moves are to the left only, a weakside rotation with Tmac will throw off boozer and zone stay on Okur, Williams, and Harpring.

Please remember the tips passes, which created turnovers.

Try to steal the ball from Boozer, force him to shoot a jumper in stead of a drivring layup.

Typically the person that drops in to help Yao on a faster defensive player is Chuck. But Okur has him so far out that by the time Boozer starts his move there is not enough time for Chuck to break to the basket.

Shane was dropping in a little bit, but then his man, AK and Harpring, started scoring so he had to man up a bit more.

The ideal person to drop in and help him would be Tmac, but then you can't risk him getting too many fouls covering for Yao.

Boozer was making some really tough jump shots over Yao's outstretched arms. If he could body him up and knock one of those jumpers into Boozers nose we wouldn't have any problem with the guy. Unfortunately the guy is really fast.

He's getting all the help he needs, Boozer sucks. Whenever CB takes an open shot, he misses, but when Yao guards him, it goes in.

Yao just needs to suck it up, Tmac did, Yao can too.

Not even that. They always throw those lobs after Yao gets illegally screened by Derek Fisher or whoever the pt gaurd is at the time.

Rafer or someone has to step up and take a charge.
Can't just give wide open layups. Cuz Yao isn't fast enough to get by a screen. So once they set one back door. Someone needs to help out!!

We need tougher defend for the next game because they will drive to the hole more since they know they get more calls at home. We need to shut down the open lane and watch out for the pick and roll.

So, Yao sucks on defense and it's his teammates' fault? Maybe Yao should stop allowing Boozer to blow by him for layups and cuts to the basket to get layups. Too bad Yao's too slow.

Here's what you do. Since Yao is the best POST defender in the game, KEEP HIM IN THE POST! You have to take your chance with Boozer and his jumpshots. Would you rather have him shoot jumpers or get the easy layups/dunks like he did tonight? Plus, if Yao is already closer to the basket, there's a better chance he can get the rebound.

Yes, he is too big,he cannot follow PF's foot.
Give him some help so he can knock opponents when attacking.

We really should double-team Boozer because Yao is just too slow. Boozer cannto shoot the jumpers over him, but he can take the ball to the rim and Yao is in foul trouble. So i thing we really should double-team Boozer and help Yao on defense

Yao is blacking shots? He is averaging .8 BPG and only had 1 yesterday. So, I just don't see how he is helping them much. Ak47 got past T-Mac, and Yao just let him dunk.

Yao doesn't suck on defense, he just isn't quick enough to stay with Boozer. Chuck Hayes does a great job on Boozer, but that would leave Yao with Okur near the 3 pt line and the Jazz would be able to drive to the basket without Yao in there to intimidate, change, and block shots.

JVG should make some adjustments in game 6, one of them is to find a man to help Yao, hope Boozer won't have a good shooting touch next game.

I agree. But maybe we should switch hayes to cover boozer in the 4th on occasion to mix it up.

Me personally just think Yao and JVG should take a close look at the way Boozer shoots over Yao, there is something wrong----maybe Yao's arms are wide open and Boozer just ignore them and shoot in between, maybe the time Yao stretches his arms is not right... I can not accept the fact that Boozer keeps shooting over Yao as if he is non-exist.

We need to look at the big picture. Boozer had some good games but he is a good player. You can't completely shut him down. If you double him, the Jazz has many good shooters who will kill you.

Boozer avg 21 pts on 56% FG for the season. He avg 23 pts on 48% FG in the playoffs. I think Yao did a fairly decent job on him. We should just let Boozer try to shoot over Yao but maybe help on the drive. Many teams clog up the middle and help against the dribble very well. Somehow, the Rockets are not good at that. The guards just need to drop back occasionally to strip the ball from Boozer once or twice, that would make him think twice about putting the ball on the floor.

You can't expect to totally shutdown everyone on the opposing team, can you? By putting Yao on Boozer, we made Okur like a piece of used toilet paper on the offensive end. It's a trade-off. Of cause Yao should do better but everyone knows his weakness and not much you can do about it. Doubling Boozer is a bad idea, too.

After all, 96-92 is same as 96-0.

Even Dream had Big Shot Rob to come from the weakside and block some shots. FYI, it's called team defense. That's what Dallas doesn't get and why Dirk is getting lit up like a X-mas tree.
