Because he is reliable shooter and defender.
When he is out of court, our offense and defense looks like disorder. Each time when he comes back, our counterpart has to change their playing style. He can make his teamate get involved in the game.
Trust Yao.Rocket will be definitely in playoffs.

Larry Smith needs to play Yao at least 48 minutes or Rudy should get fired and Cat traded. Plain and simple.

48 minutes is the most minutes Yao -- or any player -- would be able to play in a regulation NBA game. And if this happened Yao would be worn out much to quickly. So, yes, Yao should play more, but NOT the ENTIRE game (48 minutes).

I think we should deliberately play the game so that we always go to at least 1 OT or maybe 2 OTs...that way Yao can get in 53 or 58 minutes. That way he can get off 30 shots or something.

Ok, then fire Rudy and trade Cat. It's obviously their fault.

Lets fire the fans (for a lot of BS here) and trade the owner (les) becaue he is the only who can kick some ass.

yao had a really bad shooting night. the way he was playing and missing free throws, i would have rather seen kelvin cato play in there. maybe he might of hit some free throws even though he isn't a good free throw shooter. yao actually missed two free throws in a row. and maurice taylor also missed two. we gave this game away.

francis was on fire. he played an excellent game. haven't seen him play that well overall in a long time. wasted a perfect game from francis. plus cuttino and maurice on the fastbreak made one of the dumbest mistakes i've ever seen. they practically gave the ball away. coach mean should have the entire team practicing free throws for 5 hours and fast break practices for another 5 hours after this.

o yeah, i think the subject of this thread is r****ded especially if you saw the game last night.

I would like to see Yao and Cato in the game at the same time.

If teams double Yao, he can toss that alley oop pass to Cato.

Heck, Cato can not shoot any worse then EG, and Cato has turned into quite the tough guy.

Ironic how our weakest position had a log jam.

If you saw the game last night u "should" know that MoT started 1-7 and ended with 6-12. How many times you've seen Yao, Francis or Mobley started badly and ended up with decent shooting stat? (Granted sometimes they started out bad and ended worse).
You judge players by their performance over a long stretch of games. If they go cold, you have to let them shoot themselves back into the game. If you sit them all, you will have no players on the court.
The same is true with FT shooting. Roz ranks 12/ 29 this season.
You want to rank first on everything and you want to practive everything but not punish the players by making them practice 5 hr of FT shooting and 5hr. of fast break!

You know what, I should not even bother to say these things to you ...!

No No, you have it bass-ackwards...

we must Trade Rudy for Phil and Fire Cat outright...

and then demote Mean to be Van's assistant..
    It's all their faults...

btw....I said it last night, I maent it...We Must Play Yao 55 Minutes Every Night!...

you know, crack is bad for you. you're one very confused individual. i recommend you seek therapy immediately . the rockets could not buy a bucket with the exception of francis. they made too many free throw misses. that's what lost the game. they could have won comfortably if they hit their free throws and their free throw problems were bad from the beginning and ended badly. they got the chance to shoot themselves out of it. and at that Toronto game, i remember the announcer saying yao had practiced shooting free throws before the start of the fourth quarter. he missed five in a row in practice and got really mad at himself and at the end of the fourth quarter with the game on the line, he hit both of them. but this time i don't know what the he!! was wrong with him, he missed both free throws, which is rare. he actually looked kinda nervous this time shooting free throws. i wonder what got into him. that's why i'm saying even cato probably could've hit at least one of them. that's not saying i want to replace cato in the starting lineup permanently cause that's stupid. and if you took that seriously, you must be on crack. o and leave the basketball lessons to an expert cause you're obviously a novice.

The only reason Yao isn't a smear on the face of the rookie wall is because Rudy has given him the rest he needs DESPITE the fact that everyone in the state of Texas and half of China wants Yao to play 48 minutes a night every night. This isn't NBA Live, it's real life.

Twin Towers II? Not, but I actually agree and it sounds doable...

It can't be any worse than what we've done in the past although Yao would need a rest...

It is obvious that you did not do too well in Sarcasm 101. :)

What is going on these days? Every poster on this forum is trying to sharpen their sarcasm skills but most (like our honorable DoD) don't know how to construct one nicely ;) . Sorry DoD - someone had to say it.

so now the question is was Fegwu being sarcastic? if so, try harder. if not, DoD's post was a quality (and funny) jab at all the b****ing that goes on around here.
