Let's assume we are captured by aliens, and they give you one choice. They will let you go, but first they are going to either take one of your legs or one of your arms. Which one would you give up? At first, I was thinking arm, because I want to be able to walk around. Then I thought about the prosthetic legs they have these days, and I think I'd rather they take a leg.
I'd give up an arm, no question. I can't imagine not being able to run. While losing an arm would be a definite hindrance, losing a leg would be much worse, in my opinion.
First thinking was arm, then I realized that there exists prosthetic legs out there that could help me stand and walk and run again.
Leg. They have those sweet bionic legs now that let runners go faster than when they had their real legs.
Easy: leg. You can run marathons on prosthetic legs. A prosthetic arm of similar function to the real deal are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off in the future.
Where is the option for "my main man slipped, got arrested and flip, screamed thug life and emptied a clip"?
Thank you for starting this thread. My initial reaction would have been to give up the arm. But the reasoning with the prosthetic leg is sound. So now, if it comes up, I will know to give up the leg. Thanks.
Not to mention it would be hard to get you to hold your twins with only one arm. Chances are, though, that if you lose one you won't have been given the option.
Well, you didn't stipulate if you could get that one limb back. How about you can't get it back at all? Everyone thinks "you can get a leg back in prosthetics and [blah blah]..." Then what's the point if you're going to get it back? If I couldn't get it back: I'd give up a leg. So much for challenging leroy420 to a friendly game of soccer. "When I need directions, I'm not asking a man with one tooth--I'm asking a man with one LEG. If there's a shortcut, that one-legged ****er knows what it is. I am asking a man with one leg, because he definately knows the fastest way to get there. And you won't be hopping fences or climbing ladders, neither." - Attell
