Last 3 mins, Yao played like MVP. He posted only once, but got 4pts, 1 hook and 1 put back, and secured the rebs. But our teamates ignored Yao's post 3 times in a row! Why??? Spurs dont double Yao all night, guys just...!!!! Sign. If Yao cant score 20pt while not doubled, his teamates shoud be blamed for the lose.
giving Yao the ball when opponents' defense intensifies is a high risk move, it is very turnover prone.. I think coach's mentality is throwing up a whatever shot is better than risking to turnover the ball n result in a fast break.
If we had went to Yao down the stretch and he was missing you same people would be whining about how the offensive gameplan down the stretch is too predictable.
We have higher chance if that last 3 pointer was taken by Yao in the last 4 second. Veteran team like spurs know they will go to our perimeter player for that last shot. Yao was not guarded tightly there, so he should of have the ball for that last possession, it's better than not getting a shot up at all. Gotta be creative in tight games like these. Hope the Rockets learn something tonight.
if they play yao 1 on 1,just let yao shoots more,no one can stop him 1 on 1.but ab and ron believe they can beat a team 1 on 5..
To a big extent, it is up to Yao. If he doesn't demand it, there is nothing you can do. Yao on the Rockets is totally different from the Yao on the Chinese national team.
Yao should take lessons from Bynum now that he's on the IR <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6mOzQnwhqFE&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6mOzQnwhqFE&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I'd rather Yao get the ball, miss a shot or jumpshot, than have Ron dribble 20 seconds and either turn it over or miss a jumper, or Brooks drive in and hit nothing but the underneath of the backboard against 3 spurs/
Yeah it's silly. He was having a good game...yet in the closing minutes he can't get the ball. They look at him and they are worried of turning it over. They just have to force it into him sometimes and live with the results. If Yao doesn't catch it, it will be on Yao and Yao then then improve on sealing his man and catching the ball. Just post the dude up and give him the rock. He can lead us far if we can give it to him in the post in clutch time. He's shown no signs that he's going to choke it away. Hell he hit a three last night.
lol that was awesome. I found myself yelling that at Artest and Brooks on my monitor too many times during a game, to give Yao the f$%#ing ball when he has his man sealed in the post.
yao has produced in the late game before. i don't see why we don't do what we did in portland when roy beat us with that impossible shot. before roy's shot, yao received an inbound pass and shot a turnaround fade.
Because if you want to be the man, you have to let teammates know youre the man. Coach cant do it. Kenny said it a million times about how rudy would call a timeout to run a play involving maxwell or a pnr with otis. When they would walk onto the court, Dream would tell kenny he's going to the blocks and throw him the ball. Guess what kenny did?
Yeah man and sometimes...that's exactly what they do to Yao... Yao has position...they just look at him and pass to the next guy on the perimeter.
Actually the only guy I see do that is Aaron Brooks. Artest isn't going to pass it to anyone else if that guy isn't Yao Ming. It's either going to be Yao's ball or he'll take a contested 3.
he's been here in the NBA long enough and he's the highest paid player on the team right now. if he really wants it, i mean like "if you don't give me the ball i'm gonna kick your out of my team" wants it, then he would've made it very clear by now.
