Man this dude needs some serious playing time this season. Seems to me like his potential is through the roof. I hope he can produce in the regular season as well as he does during the summer. I cant wait to see him play just as much as I cant wait to see Griffin....

Langhi scored 1 more point that Sean freaking Colson, that's all that needs to be said...

Pete Rose Mobster: and Langhi scored as many as Lamar Odom. Either Langhi and Colson have NBA offensive game or Odom played 22 minutes. Anyone know?

Langhi did well in pre-season action last year, too... I never saw him again other than during warm-ups. Did you?

...ok, so maybe I exaggerate, but come on folks. You have Bo Outlaw out there looking like Shaq with his numbers, you have Darius Miles looking all-world, etc. These games aren't an indication of how good these guys are in my opinion. It may showcase some of their talents, but I don't think they're transferring directly to the "real games".

Consider much of the talent they're playing against couldn't make an NBA roster or are players playing in leagues overseas that no one's heard of.

Since Colson manage to score only 1 less point than Lamar Odom, maybe we should just let Moochie go and sign Colson as our backup PG. I mean dude did score 22 points in a summer league game, he's obviously got NBA type game...right?!?!

Okay after reading the recaps, I have to say I'm a little impressed that Dan managed to put up some of these numbers while being matched up with Odom. I'll still wait on proclaiming Langhi as the real deal until he finally gets some playing time, which I hope he gets...

While I have to agree the talent pool in these games is pretty varied, it does not appear that Colson got his against some Euro league bench player. Jeff McGinnis is a 4 year NBA vet who avg'd 35 min and 12+ points.

I'm mildly impressed by Langhi's performance but will be even more so if I find out that he was at the 2 guard for alot of his minutes.

C'mon, Langhi and Colson vs. Odom, McGinnis and Dooling? Let's give credit where credit's due.

RR: you know, you're just delaying the inevitable... which will also mean the others get their monickers BACK first.

Langhi doesn't have a prayer against Griffin :p. Even hypothetically, if his offense is better than Griff's, Griffin will still start because the Rockets need defense and rebounding more than another scorer. No way Langhi can compete there. I'm still waiting to see if he can even beat out Morris and Williams.

I wouldn't be surprised if Langhi is given Cuttino's "bench offense" role of two years ago.

haven: I get your drift, but October will be here soon. Perhaps Griffin may be the long term answer at the 4 instead of the 3?

While I like Mo Taylor, I'm not sure that Griffin wouldn't be a better 4 NOW for the Rockets because of his shotblocking and defense alone.

I can see the Rockets forward rotation of MoT, Griffin, Langhi, and Morris as a strength in time-- short time we hope.

One will get traded within two years for another needed component.

Have you actually seen Eddie Griffin? There's no way he would survive against the 4's of the NBA right now. Physically he does not have what it takes to consistently bang against Tim Duncan, Chris Webber, etc. He needs to bulk up and get a little stronger. Right now, Eddie is a 6'9, 220 pound guy who is 19 years old. If you have him starting at PF in real NBA action you are asking for trouble. This was a summer league game, in which 3 of the 4 best Rocket players were all SF's. It's pretty logical to assume he'd start there in these leagues, with Langhi and Morris also on the rosters. Long-term he might grow into a 4, but it's not smart to put him there his first season..

For you Langhi doubters and bashers, let's give the guy a chance. He can't control the matchups, only perform while he's on the court. He's busting his hump any way he can to improve and help the team; whether he starts/plays will take care of itself. At least he's not Cato (who is practicing with the team "but not playing"......why the hell not?), or KT who got a facial from a canine (gimme a break!)and "won't participate."

I think you're right in that Griffin's long-term spot might very well be the 4. But still, Mo's an above leage-average PF... it would be silly to replace him with Griffin when the SF is inhabited by a) a defensive stopper who's really a SG, b)1. a glorified 3 pt specialist, 2. an underrated 3pt specialist, and C) a rookie who had really crappy averages last year and is as thin as a rail.

Besides, Griffin's too small to guard the PF's of the league. He needs to bulk up first... maybe in 3 years.

Dallas Rocket: KT busts his ass on the court... and normally seems to practice pretty hard. I don't blame him for not wanting to attend the RMR again. I'm not sure what he was doing there in the first place.

I really believe that the Rockets surplus at the 3 spot is a blessing for 2 reasons. #1 they do not have to resign Anderson whose money they could use on other guys and they do not need Williams at all (maybe some team will be interested). #2 The surplus of 3's allows Langhi to back up the 2 spot. He evidently played it last night and played it well. Everyone posting here seems to agree that the second option at 2 behind Cat is Francis and Moochie plays 1 right? Why sign Anderson to a 4-5 mil contract to be the 3rd option at 2? Langhi and this Collson guy could be just fine for that. You still have Griffin, Morris, and Bullard at 3. I really just do not think the Rockets need Anderson or Williams, even though I like both players I think they would be better off elsewhere.

haven and Cat: I don't disagree with you about Griffin's physical shortcomings, HOWEVER if he rebounds and blocks shots better he can manage some minutes there.

I wasn't giving him the starting 4 position; I was just pointing out that some of his strengths fit that position better.

I expect Mo T to start at 4 and Langhi to start at 3. Kenny Thomas, Eddie Griffin, and Terrence Morris will come off the bench-- some more than others.

    What to do with Shandon?
