I said it a while back and i dont know if you guys have noticed but when cato got the oppurtunity last night he showed a couple of nice looking moves. he shot the baseline J twice and it didnt look bad at all. he also showed a sweeping hook over ostertag, and a jump hook. he also has been moving very well without the ball. he even made a reverse layup. now u see what i mean about giving him the chance to develop on O? he will never develop on just dunks (i dont mind dunks though) and houston should post him up more. i just hate when he whines and gets outrebounded but hes young he will grow out of it. i wish he would show his shot blocking skill a little more too. but instead of having train only in the offseason on O the best way to learn is to do it in the game and i hope francis/backcourt 2000 give him the chance to shine like he can. ------------------ --TEX [This message has been edited by TeXaSalsa (edited March 10, 2000).]
wasn't it Akeem whose late 80's solution for a Rocket's breakthru was: "giv me da.ball" Lesson learned: Cato needs to want the ball, first.
It seems as if Cato has been workin on his game. This has made me much more optimistic. Even though, those were were only a couple of moves, they still show promise. With Hakeem and Kenny Thomas, I think Cato should learn alot.
I would trade Cato for someone with a low post game. He will take YEARS to become a good low post player. Sorry, I don't see it happening. DaDakota
Yes! Get it inside and at the bucket for some high pecentagers. Cato is definatly above the rim. No now CATO!1 ------------------ We would like to get rookie Francis on the break for some easy scoops in the first quarter... [This message has been edited by Not Chaney (edited March 12, 2000).]
DaDakota how do u know that? before this season cato barely got any PT or chance to develop. Cato has alot of potential which the rockets should utilize, in an ESPN poll cato was voted to have the most potential of any upcoming center over olawakondi and others. Even if he isnt a 20 pt man, a 15-17 pt. center would be just fine. he has alot to work on, but i think cato can become a very productive center. he is very quick/athletic and needs to bulk up. if hakeem can teach him some footwork and moves he will be just fine. i wish he would have signed his contract after this season prompting him to work a little harder. ------------------ --TEX
I agree with you Texsauce, Cato should get some more touches, but not too many. If he gets hot, feeed tha hog, but he turns it over, go to other options and try again later. I know Francis and mobley are the best options, but sometimes it feels as if Cato is invisible out there. Oh yeah, I would also love for Cato to develope a jumper. that's not too much to ask for is it? Just score man! ------------------ "Whooaa." - Ted
