Every two minutes there's a new thread talking about how we should trade Cat for anyone we can get. The guy is just going through a rough slump, and the fans rubbing it in his face won't make it any better.

He might be upset about a personal/family related issue, or he could be bothered by the fact that he's been bumped out of the Rockets spotlight for the forseeable future. Either way, we have to remember he's playing for our team and trying his best.

Keep in mind that if we traded any player who had a rough mid-season slump, we'd have turned the Rockets roster over several times since last year.

I know in Europe soccer league, a team can lease out a player for a
time period, but still owns the player. Is there such thing in NBA team can have temporary trade. :D

At least Cat only gets bashed after he has BAD games...He'd get his number retired if he ever put up 28 points, 5 assists, and zero turnovers...

Yeah, let's show some empathy here. Poor Rox fans have to put up with his wild ass shots every night. Oh, you want us to give Cat a break.

Let me see. Cat is making 5-mil a season to play basketball 82 times a year when most of the Americans work long hours just to keep their house. If I were Cat, I'd work my ass off and put up numbers to justify my fat paychecks. I'd stop sulking because I know I got a good think going for me.

Let give the fans a break for a change.

You're turning this into a social issue, not a basketball one. But if you want to go in that direction, I'll say this much: by any standard EVERY basketball player is overpaid. In comparison to the rest of the league, I think Cat is a pretty good value.

Back to the topic, do you expect every Rockets player to not go through a slump? If so you're out of your mind.

Yes, let's stay on the topic. Do you expect fans to put up with Cat's crazy shot selection and remain mum?

At 18.0 PPG and 3.0 APG I'd say Mobley is doing his job for a 2-guard. He's shooting FG's at a 43% clip, which is only 1% less than Steve Francis.

You find something wrong with his overall contribution other than the fact he's having a rough patch of games?

Yes, give him a break. He's the only player in the league who can make Calbert Cheaney look like an all-star.

Stats dont tell you how this particular player play the game. You can have 5 above 50% guys in the line up and still not win the game for you. Francis has more ability and quality than Mobely, period. It's the way he plays the game, shot selection making him not fit in the Rox system. He can be a great clipper though.

Let's see... Will I give Cuttino Mobley a break? Um - No. And, when I say no, I mean abso-frickin-lutely NOT

I'll give Cat a break when he pays me back for the tickets I bought to watch him and his over-inflated ego shoot the Rox out of games we should have won!!!

I can only hope that he is a little down on himself and going through a period of self-evaluation because he has proven to the entire league that, unlike his own perception, HE'S NOT AN ALL STAR QUALITY 2 GUARD!!!!

Nor is Cat worthy of being the #2 option on this team anymore. If he absolutely HAS to be one of the main attractions on a team then he has GOT to go elsewhere!!

Cato has adjusted beautifully to his new role, and Cat should either do the same or try not to let the door hit him on the way out!!!

What do you mean? All star break is not long enough for him?

we'll give mobley alone when he's starting to play up to his capability. that means he has to shoot around 45%, score 15pts and play tough defense. also, he has to play smart and use yao to his advantage.

Cat wouldn't score 15PPG with any other team.

Mobley deserves a break alright, a break from basketball.....seriously how long would we need to cope up with all the crap he done for the team, he's not sulking, he just knows..........everyone's tradeable except Stevie and Yao, I think knowing that hurt his pride and may spur an inclination towards keeping up his personal interest (maintaining his dumb ball of 18 pts 3asst 43% FG......)

    "patience is a virtue" - Cuttino :(

It is not the team nor his role on the team
It is PR and the spotlight that he does not get, Understand that not being chosen as an allstar hurt Cat alot.

Clearly he deserved it just like finley.
