We have a team with Yao, we have a tall shooting PF on the bench (not like Novak, this can have some presence inside), and we are now without our backup PF. Doesn't deserve a chance Cook?

He can difficult the defenses against Yao, he can be undoubtedly a valuable piece for us. Every time I see the Magic, I realize the value and help for Howard is to have a Lewis located all the time on the 3 point line.

Adelman, use your weapons, at least give a chance to Cook (ยก!)

Cook is a situational player, much like Chuck Hayes. Hayes, however, is a proven defender.

Cook has a decent shot, at least of what I've seen when he played for Lakers and got off the bench in Orlando.

He reminds me of an older Sam Perkins--a big guy who comes of the bench to spread the floor.

I don't see him finding any minutes, though. Maybe while Landry is out, I suppose, but only if the matchups call for it.

I agree, Maybe he gets more of a shot next year but for a player like him. It's hard for him to be thrown on a new neam at the deadline and expect to contribute. He will have to wait to go through training camp, and show how much he can help, if he exercises his option or not.

    Brian Cook or Mr. White?

I would rather see the dunker out there instead.

I agree, play the guy, particularly when Landry is out. Lets see what he can do. The Rox are paying him 3M per year. Let him do more than wave a towel on the bench and cheer lead.

If we can blowout the Twolves tonight, I'm sure he will get some minutes.

The one time I saw Cook play during a blowout, he tried to do a bunch of stuff and failed miserably.

Only give him a chance if the game is a blowout (up 20 with a few minutes left), IMO. No reason to put him in otherwise.

You must suck. I was playing online with him AND James White. Both let the team to victory.

There isnt enough Epic Fail signs out in the intertubez to describe my feelings towards Brian Cook playing minutes in a game where his play will affect the outcome of the game (ie anything but a blowout)

    but I will try

I agree with the op about giving cook time. The guy can shoot with range, he's long, and a better inside offensive player than people think. What Jeff did pretty good was match a offensive player with a defensive player. The year yao went down, chuck had been the starter. What jeff did was re insert howard to play with deke. That's what Adelman should do when playing cook while landry is out. He should bring in cook deke in the 2nd unti. Lowry running 2nd team, he always look for the 3pt shooters and that's up cook's alley. I remember he dropped 28 back to back against houston and dallas a few yrs ago. He can do some things, but is no worse defender than scolandry so I don't see the big deal.

If all RA wants is a 3p shooting PF, he would have keep novak. A proven player that can shoots. But a team needs to play defense if they wanted to win. So i say no to Cook.
