I thought it would be a turn on. Untill recently I'm semi seeing this one chick who knows more about college football than myself. Maybe not the history but defintely with whats going on currently. It's kind of disturbing.Shes also an aTm chick that has a passion of hatred towards my school texas tech...

Last year I was dating somebody that literally knew less than my 92 year old grandmother. Last year we were watching Tech-Ou and she was giving me a high five after Tech punted the ball b/c she thought that counted as moving the ball because it was going forward. She actually got excited on one punt where the OU guy just called for a fair catch. I was watching the game with a few other buddies and they were like wtf is up with this girl...She She also insisted that we watch the whole game insisting that it is never over.....

I'd say some where in the middle is perfect.

Some where in the middle is good, but a complete dumbass, couldn't do it...A girl that knows too much is a little scary, in a trying to hard kind of way, IMHO...

I used to think I wanted a girl that really enjoyed watching sports, but lately I've changed my stance. I'd rather have a girl that can enjoy watching sports enough so that she doesn't mind going to social events that revolve around sports, but that is secure enough that she doesn't get territorial when I go out and watch football with my guy friends all day on Saturday.

Agreed. There was a girl I went to HS with who was pretty damn good looking but also an athlete. I knew in HS that she was an athlete but didn't know which sports she played until I saw her at a local gym one day playing bball. She was good enough to run with the guys (had a good outside shot and was quick enough laterally that she wasn't exploited even though she couldn't jump). It was hot.

The worst is a girl that acts like she is a big sports fan but obviously only knows what she hears from her other friends. She never actually watches sports but heard her friend's boyfriend discussing the game, so she knows that Colt McCoy is good and Sam Bradford got hurt...

It's a turn on if a woman has basketball knowledge, even if it's greater than mine.

It's a turn off if a woman is way too into any other sport, only because I don't really care for other sports quite as much and get bored talking to people irl about it.

My wife knew nothing about sports before we met. She now knows Rockets/Texans/Hawkeye football players by name. Great lady... :)

    I agree.

True knowledge of the sport is a plus, but pretending to know what's going on is worse than admitting to being totally clueless.

Dated a girl who loved Argentina soccer. Knew formations, what teams the players played on, etc... regardless if she new this or not she was argentinean and thus always turned me on.

If a chicks digs Texas football it's nice.

Girls that are genuinely into sports are awesome as long as they clean up well. She still needs to act like a girl though. I don't want to date a guy with boobs.

Personally, my wife likes going to rockets games which good enough for me.

I actually had this exact conversation with a friend recently. In my opinion, it is definitely in the middle. For instance, if she's watching a Longhorn game with me and sees #8 catch the ball, it is nice if she can recognize that was Jordan Shipley. Or if we are watching baseball, she knows that 3 balls and 2 strikes is called a "full count." All I ask for is basic knowledge :D .

However if she leans over to me before the play starts and tells me what the team should run here, or busts out some statistics that even I don't know, then that gets kind of freaky.
