    Ginobili injured?

Sat out most of the Olympic game versus the United States.

Post more info if you have it!

I don't have any hard info but he walked off the court with his own power and it seemed that he just rested because the game was getting out of hand. It seems like a sprain at most. But hey we can hope right?

His "injury" is the passing of the torch, in leadership perspective, to Scola. I think it's CLEARLY evident that Scola is the hoss of Team Argentina.

O well, sucks for spurs fan if this is another one of his nagging injuries.

Is it the same ankle that hobbled him in the postseason?

The fact that he never came out of the locker room makes me think it may be more serious.

I mean why not come to the bench to cheer your team on?

It takes him about 40 minutes to shave, which is what the coach asked...

If you can play in your last Olympic elimination game, and decide not to for fear of more injury, you should stay in the lockerroom. Who would want you on the bench, if you're holding back from your national team.

So, either he is more serious, or he gave up on his country. No national hero Argentinian soccer player would sit in a World Cup semi-final match, if he could come back.

he's had nagging injuries his whole career, even pre-NBA. It's due to his style of play. He takes those long, herky-jerky strides to get to the rim, which exposes his ankles to wear and tear. it is taking a toll on him. His nagging injuries are pretty much no different that any guard who goes hard to the rim and takes a beating and loses their coveted leaping ability early (see Steve Francis). But instead, Ginobody loses his driving ability.

I am Argentine, so i will point out some things.

First we don´t have a "the man" on our team, the man will always be the team, and whoever gets hot on the game.

Ginobili gladly vote Scola as the team captain.

Ginobili was never a more important player for Argentina than Scola, our first and second offensive options, since 2002 are always Ginobili or Scola, mainly Scola because we use a lot of pick n roll.

You have to understand that our team is a group of friends, we don´t have an ego issue, this guys, along with some that are already retired, have played together since the u17 tournament 20 years ago.

Maybe you can tell me, why did it seem during the tournament that Scola could go off during one game for around 30 points yet be completely ignored by his teammates during the next game? Some games the Argentinians would give the ball to Oberto in the post before giving it to Scola. What was the reason, offensive gameplan, the opposing teams defensive schemes (unlikely), other reasons?

Anyway, good luck, I hope you get bronze. ;)

Exactly. Ginobili won't quit on any game, unless he is really injured. Or maybe he was told to rest, for the bronze medal match.

It doesn't appear to be a serious injury.

I respect the hell out of this guy. Seeing him injured badly and in pain literally made my heart stop for a moment. I hope he's alright -- I don't want the Spurs to have any excuses if we're better than them this year.

    aww...man

i love ginobili...i hope he gets traded to houston for yao and tmac.....seiously...they suck, and they're always injured..

ginobili and artest would be a beastly combo that would win the title...imagine a black guy and a white guy playing together in harmony...dominating the league....

I just wanted to get this str8, u would trade yao and tmac for ginobili. U do know that ginobili is injury prone as well. And you wanna give up one of the best low post players in the game right now as well. How would ginobili do without duncan? And artest is only locked for one year. And without a low post presence I dont think artest and ginobili could "dominate the league"
