Anybody else like this show? My wife introduced me to it and now it's a pretty regular staple for me.

It's part of a long series about eccentric, small town ensembles:

The Bob Newhart Show (Vermont Innkeeper)
    Northern Exposure
    Ed
    et al

    can't disagree more G'up

my radio station used to have a segment called the Gilmorometer.... where they would play a clip and then callers would have to ring in with the amount of words in the clip... some of the conversations used to be around a hundred words a minute.... and then the winner would be offered the vcr tape of the episode the clip was taken from... no on ever accepted the prize :p

I don't watch it, but KingCheetah and I have an old friend who is a regular on that show. :D

I did like N.O. though., it reminds me of my years of living in Nacogdoches.

I tried to watch it once, but it drove me crazy. They talk too damn fast on that show...

I've watched it a couple of times, but I like(d) other WB shows better: Buffy, Angel, Roswell, and Smallville to name a few.

It was fun to watch her, but I still couldn't make it through even one episode.

I freaking LOVE it. Loralai and Rory are the best! I really do like it. They compact a two hour show into an hour with instant cuts and clips. The writing is witty and the story lines are amazing. I love it!

    Smallville, too.

Gilmore Girls Rock! Each character has their own moral code/motives and each character reacts to a given storyline based on their moral code/motives.

giddyup, this is NOT how marriage works. You are supposed to introduce shows to your wife, not the other way around. Shame on you. :)

My wife watches the Gilmore Girls, Everwood, and One Tree Hill. I mix them up from time to time. IMO, they all blend together into one gooey mixture of generic WB programming.

It's a nice positive show that today's teen female audiences should enjoy! But other than that, the dialog exchanges used in the show are unbearable. I can sit down at the food court at Baybrook Mall and hear the same ramblings amongst the teen girls at the same speech speed as provided by this show. My wife watches it on a regular basis and thankfully, I have not fallen into this trap.

Hooked on it. And I'm happy to know that I'm not the only male viewer in the world.

Great show. I'm compelled to write many paragrahps of what makes it so great, but I don't have time.

    Love it.

When the wife turns on most girly shows, i'll get a book and ignore the tv. The Gilmore Girls, i'll watch.

More clever dialogue in five minutes then most shows have in an hour. Often i'm just getting one joke, when two or three others zip by! Great writing. Great characters. (and Laralai is a babe).

I find the show very annoying. I think it tries too hard to be clever.

I used to watch it. With the dialogue, you either love it or hate it. It's like the West Wing with less policy talk. I kind of like the dialogue, even though it is absolutely impossible for a real person to think and talk that fast.

But I couldn't really stand the whole Lorelai/Luke courtship. Maybe I'm a freak, but I always preferred Lorelai to hook up with her baby's daddy. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I thought a storyline like that would provide more dramatic potential, and they had better chemistry.
