    That hilarious!

Of course, there's no way that played any role in their decision. I mean you could probably say "i plan on killing the owner of the team as soon as i am drafted" and they'd take you as long as you had talent.

Dude, if I were a GM, I'd have drafted him just for having the cohones grandes. Really, that's the kind of guy you want to stand up and take the last shot. If he can say that stuff to a room full of 'coaches, scouts and player personel directors', without any sort of problem, nothing could upset him.

Exactly. In this post-Bird/Magic/MJ era, everyone wants the ring. It's hard to really dispute the intentions of just anyone who plays in the L, these days. Nobody is really here for the money and coke, anymore (for better or worse). GA was just chafing at the inanity of the questions these dudes ask.

I'm just wondering what the scouts/GMs wanted the dude to say. Probably something that would make a Miss USA contestant blush. World peace? Muthafakker please.

I love watching Arenas. I just wish he would have been handed the reins earlier this year.

True dat. I would definitely show more love to a go with a great sense of humor like that. But then again most of these GMs are crusty old white guys...

Gilbert dropped because people think he's too small, not because he said he wanted to be an international pimp.

I agree with you Ottomaton...those coaches, scouts, and player personel folks probably here the same BS answers all day from players. That quote also explain what the announcers during the slam dunk contest were saying about Arenas...They were making comments that he was a jokester and funny guy

Arenas was the reason I wished the Cats had dropped those damn Dukies last year. I still have a bitter taste in my mouth. :(

Seriously, I hope he gets some minutes tonight. I like to watch his demeanor when he steps on the court. As I remember at Zona, he used to smile a lot.

I'm glad someone noticed that! I saw that game (March 11, just two weeks ago) on TV, and couldn't believe how empty the place was.

One of the game recaps said the crowd couldn't have been more than 3,000.

Arenas should be proud that, despite only having one arm, he has made it this far.

There is a difference between cohones grandes and immaturity, Arenas may have plenty of both.

The question with Arenas was whether he could make the move from an SG to a PG. As a Cats fan I'll be the 1st to tell you he was the best player on last years team--including Jefferson, Woods, Wright, Gardner and Walton. The guy has explosiveness and aggressiveness to burn. I always liked this pick up by GS--despite Arenas's immaturity. IMO Zona would have beaten Duke had Arenas not got his shoulder and chest slammed in the Illini game and never regained his form for the critical games (they still beat MSU but needed the extra firepower against Duke).

BTW- I don't think the above comment was a big deal and was rather funny actually. I make the judgement more about his maturity by the fact he did not get a 1st round type contract and the first thing he does is by himself a Cadillac Escallente (sp?). A fiscally responsible pimp never would do something like that.

I knew Arenas was a steal. In fact, I liked him 10X's more than the overhyped Joe Forte.

If Arenas had played on a different team, without having to sacrafice shots to other players, he would have scored close to 25 ppg.

Like Scar said, he was kind of positionless.

I don't think having a true PG is really a necessity in the NBA anymore. Offenses aren't structured enough to require a major floor general.

Arenas has an adequate handle, and he is explosive, to go with a decent jumper.

Do you know how many players score close to 25 ppg and who they are?

Hmmmm ... I better pay more attention during Golden State games. This one-arm thing may not be a joke ...

... and another shot of that enormous crowd in Atlanta to watch the Warriors play the Hawks:
