I was just informed that Gilbert Arenas of the GoldenState Warriors is a restricted free agent after this season. If we can somehow get the money to offer him after we resign Posey, an offer that GS can't match then he will come to us. But I hear Denver is the leading team that would get him as far as money goes. But think about it...

Steve an Cat would be our backcourt. But we'd have an extra man to throw in there while Moochie is at point, instead of a tired Francis (when Mobley is sitting down), and if our reserves can step up next season, our starters wont have to play so many minutes.

Why would him want to be a backup guy? He can start on most teams.

Gilbert is waiting to suck from the great grape that is free agency. The Rox cannot get under the cap to bust the cap to sign him.

Look for him in the alps of Colorado.

    Man.....I would love him.

The Warriors may make the playoffs. They can make it next year.

They already have great players......Gilbert Arenas, Jason Richardson, Antawn Jamison, Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, AND EARL BOYKINS. They are very young and athletic.

If we could get Arenas, that would be sweet.

    But don't resign Posey.

    Then we could get him.

Since we have great talent and a great future, some players want to be a part of it. Like when Brand went to the Clippers. If they were the Clippers from old, winning 20 or less games each year then he would've never done that. But Rashard Lewis almost went with us this past summer BECAUSE of us getting the #1 pick in Yao.

Arenas at 1, and Francis at 2? That would be great! But it will never happen. Next year Rockets will have some capspace when Rice's contract runs out.

Brand was traded to the Clippers for Tyson Chandler, it wasn't his choice to go there.

We are over the cap so we can't give him more than MLE which is exactly what GSW can offer. Why would he want to be a backup guard here than be the starting guard there? And if he wants more money, he would probably bolt to a team with a lot of cap room, Denver, Miami, SA etc etc.

Any who will sign for the exception -- yet who won't push Les' bankbook into luxuryland.

The Warriors have Arenas's Early Bird Rights and the bidding will likely start at the league average salary which I believe is equal the MCE (currently around $4.5m). The MCE is all the Rox will have. They can't outbid GS...monetarily just like the Marc Jackson situation a few summers ago. Forget about it.

I'd love to have Posey/Mo Taylor in a deal for someone with cap room for 2 players with Potential. I'd like Nene from Denver and Shammond Williams + future 1st rounder for Posey/Mo $ Taylor.

Yes, Posey sent back to Denver! :p

We don't need any big-name free agents. Our team already have the potential to be a championship contending team if we keep all our current players together (Posey included, not for a too fat contract though). This summer I think we should only spend our MLE on a pure shooter in the mold of a young Glen Rice. Then we probably use Glen Rice's contract as trade bait to get a good young guard or forward depends on the situation or how EG and Boki pan out.

Mo Tayler's contract is just not tradeable, so forget about it. We're stuck with him for many years.

Sure, and why not trade Hawkins for Kidd and Collier for Duncan, while we're at it?
