Doh! He did take like 4 or 5 steps there. The ref must have been mesmarized by Steve's sweet ball handling.
i think he takes 4 after the last dribble but the ball isn't quite in his hand for the first one so it's a mere 3 steps. i hear they may bring the travelling violation back one day.
it's weird, they don't call stuff like that but even pretend to shuffle your feet and they're all over it. and awesome move, about the only reason i'm mad they didn't show the game on tv.
Almost all behind the back moves take at least 3 steps. It just takes that much time to bring the ball around your body. But it is never called traveling for aesthetic reasons, I supposed.
Whatever it is, it's not nearly as many as Tim Duncan took on that one play where he got the pass near the 3 point line and walked in for the dunk.
What would we say if he was whistled for traveling, or missed the shot? Anyways, the only purpose I can see for that is to maybe fake the defenders, otherwise, it's just show. Nice though.
