Ademilton, a 16.7 pound (7.57 kilogram) baby boy is seen at the Albert Sabin Maternity Hospital in Salvador, 1,450 kilometers 900 miles northeast of Sao Paulo, in the state of Bahia, on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005. Francisca Ramos dos Santos, 38, gave birth to the healthy boy named Ademilton on Tuesday. He was the largest baby born at the Albert Sabin Maternity Hospital in its 12-year history, the hospital said. 'Obviously the baby was born by Caesarean section,' hospital director Rita Leal said. my wife would collapse if she saw that picture. put this in perspective....my youngest, at his 2 month checkup, was 12lbs, 6ozs..putting him in the 75th percentile...AT 2 MONTHS!!!
Ademilton has gained interest by the Los Angeles Lakers as a potential resource for a dominant center. "Well, obviously Ademilton is a big guy and we could really use the size under the hoop," said Rudy Tomjanovich, head coach of the Lakers. "Considering he has the maturity of a newborn, he should be able connect with Kobe really well, and he's demonstrated great lateral movement for such a large body. I think he's a good fit for the team." -- droxford
Typical Salvadorian propaganda.......I have it on good authority that the baby came out sideways and momma didn't even wince.
My son, almost 17 months, is just a smidge over 22 lbs. I dont think he hit 16 lbs until about 9 or 10 months.
My youngest daughter was 11' 8" at birth. No C-section. That was eye-popping for most of the professionals at Women's Hospital. She was also 23" or so.
you know I first heard about this kid listen to sports radio out here in LA when they were saying the next Shaq is born, Mitch you better keep an eye on this kid
