    I need suggestions..My GF birthday is this friday, shes turning 25, and valentines day is the 14th! Any ideas on what to get as a present. I want to spend about 200-300 max. I have looked at some tiffany's rings, purses...etc...I know some of yall must have some good ideas that are not too expensive...thanks

    Get her a custom made Neon Sign that flashes your name. Then hang it over her bed. That way, people will know who she belongs to.

    For dinner, take her to Jillian's. Give her a bunch of quarters, and tell her you've got bad stomach cramps. Then meet your boys out.

    Maybe drive her to SA and treat her to a nice dinner on the river walk? Houston really isn't much of a romantic place.

    If you are really romantic, you can work with a local fine dining establishment and have them come to your house and cook a full 5 or 6 course meal at your home.

    Very romantic.

    I did it for my wife a couple of years ago, a chef from Green Pastures here in Austin, it was amazing.

    The thing or experience has extra value if she can use it as a social fulcrum.

    Make her look better to her friends. Set up a rival, if necessary, but deliver social proof in the form of ... you. She has...you, they don't.

    :rolleyes: I hate to rain on your Cinco de Febrero parade, Fatty, but if she hangs it over her bed, only the people whom she takes to her bedroom *wink wink* will see this sign. And, by the way, don't these signs have an OFF/ON switch? Hopefully she doesn't scramble junkforanish's real name on the sign.

    Treat her to a nice Rockets' Basketball game. Plenty to talk about once the visiting team has pulled away. Romantically help her count the ceiling rafters.
